I hope that this will be affordable when it is approved and marketed.
Think about how many men and women who have great talents may not have been chosen for the career they would have liked because of hairloss.
How many balding women are in Beauty Pagents or chosen as models for clothing or makeup, or a PR person to represent many beauty products?
If I would have had thick hair I would not have wore so many hats. I would have went swimming more, rode on a motorcyle with a friend or went boating without wearing a hat. Many, including myself, when asked will say they are not bothered by their hairloss - mainley because there is no cure and we have no choice but to accept it. However, if a cure was discovered, I'm sure that those that are currently content with their hairloss will be lining up in droves for their dosage. He was diagnosed with Alopecia Arenta. We tried several treatment such as steroid injection into his head to topical creams, with no success. He is now 17, and just yesterday we went to University of Miami Dermatology Dept.to one of the experts for Alopecia to see if there were any new treatments. As far as avaiable to the general public there is no cure. It is a shame that the goverment considers this issue a cosmetic not medical codition. Which means the funding is not offered and ins does not always cover the treatments. My son is a wonderful young man who has always said even at 6, "mom it is just hair, it is not who I am." I would not ever want to jeopardise my sons health with a treatment that may have risk greater then hairloss but I would like to know how to contact the Doctor to get more information and to see what maybe possible. I have tried to except my situation but when you are a female it is very hard. I am a freak..yes i have tried to be strong but guys cannot except the fact that i wear a wig .. i am not feeling sorry for myself ..i am pretty strong ...but men cannot except the fact that i am bald ..and if you let people know that you have no hair the first thing they think is that it is cancer and you will have hair in the future ...that is because alopecia is rare and cancer is more rapid. like i said i am not feeling sorry for me ...just trying to let people know ..so next time you see someone without hair it might not be cancer ..and believe me that is the first thing i thought of before i had this disease and your first guess -cancer- is probably right ..but alopecia is next inline ..I am thankful that i am healthy and i do not have cancer ..i do feel for everyone that has cancer and looses hair due to treatments ...i can only imagine ...i would not wish that on anyone. i do hope for a cure in the future because i do know what it is like to be shunned for being bald. there i said it ..the average american likes hair ...so be it ...I can wear lots of wigs but when i tell my story ...the men run ...and i feel like i am not telling the truth at first ..i try to be honest as soon as possible ...but i know in my heart what will happen...they cannot except my situation

Michele

A Cure For Baldness?

R.C.E. Firstly, thyroid (hypo or hyper) problems are common causes of hair loss and shedding. Get your iron tested as well, even if you are a "12" (which is a low normal), you still may see hair thinning as a result. Talk to a specialist, do research yourself, ask all the questions. Sometimes it is NOT genetics that are causing your problems.
Let's cross our fingers that this new study is a cure for any and all alopecia sufferers.

A Cure For Baldness?

I would like to sign up for help with my hair loss

A Cure For Baldness?

I too would like to have hair again, sign me up now.
I have been in a baldy state for 45 years.

A Cure For Baldness?

How do I sign up for a Trial?

A Cure For Baldness?

R. Someone please contact me.

A Cure For Baldness?

I would be interested in signing up also - please let me know how

pv,new rochelle, ny

A Cure For Baldness?

i would like to be a part of the study -memphis tn

A Cure For Baldness?

I have very thin hair. My mother wore wigs and my father was also bald. I refuse to wear a wig, some of my daughters have very thinning hair. I would give anything to be able to have a full head of hair on the top of my head! Women will want this every bit as men!

A Cure For Baldness?

I would like to sign up for the study

A Cure For Baldness?

For the first time I see a real potential for development of a product that does not involve introducing an artificial agent that you must use for the rest of your life to maintain what you were given naturally. Where can I sign up for the clinical trials? Does anybody know the name of the doctor or the company that took out the patent on this potential scientific breakthrough?

A Cure For Baldness?

I would like to participate in a study...thinning hair. Please put me on the list for a study..ASAP Thanks

A Cure For Baldness?

please put my name for a study....Thank you

A Cure For Baldness?

Myrna H. At least we would all have a choice in the matter. And yes I believe the world would be a better place for it! I have soo many freinds that actually tought about suicide at one point in their lives due baldness(including myself) so it's no laughing matter!!
