Happy 50th Matt!!! It's not as bad as you think it is, really! I, too, agonized over turning the big 50 for MONTHS before the big day! I watch you every morning & have seen all the interviews you have done with guys in ths same boat, so to speak, & I am AMAZED at how y'all freak out about a number!!! That is ALL it is too....A NUMBER!!! I know, 'cuz when THE DAY finally came for me....I went, "wow", it really isn't a big deal! Of course, you have to have the big party & take all the ritual ribbing, but when it comes down to it....you are as old as you feel! My biological clock sez I'm 50, but my heart & mind sez I'm still in my 30's & ready for ALMOST anything! You are the same way too! I've seen it! So, Matt, take all the jokes & pranks in stride & in the end, hold up your head & shout......"I'm 50 yrs old & damn proud of it!"

Meredith, I read the article in Good Housekeeping. I am also of Portuguese discent. I know how to make Kale Soup. I intend to send you the recipe asap. I also enjoy watching you on Millionaire. I turned 50 on the 20th of Dec along with my Mom who turned 7?? :-) We didn't do a big celebration this month. We lost my Dad on Nov 24th and it's been a difficult month. Though my girls did give me an early birthday party at the end of September. It was great. nearly 50 friends and relatives were there. I am so please that they held it early because my Dad was able to celebrate with us.
Not sure if you actually read these or not, but "Happy Birthday" and enjoy each and everyday.

Happy Birthday Matt. You won't feel older if you STOP telling your age. Works for me. The key is to stop the health insurance, which means you can go to a new doctor and lie about your age by 12-15 years. I did and he lectured me about how I just didn't understand how I was going to feel in 12 years when I was a 45, because the body changes a lot. At the time he said that, I was 46. It works!
