Also, I find it funny how when she was on the today show, both she and her mother defended the outfit she wore on the plain, saying "I didn't think it was too revealing". Did you SEE how she had to PULL DOWN her skirt when she stood up? And coming from the "it wasn't revealing" comment to posing for Playboy? Something tells me it was the attention she wanted. That Levi cut out she was wearing on South West is only 6 inches wide as it appears. If you notice she adjusted it up and down to fit the photo op and the case she wanted to stay with from her point of view after the manner of her opinion--wasn't her attire more like a moveable band on the bottom of her shirt? She said she was embarrassed for being singled out on that flight and was told to put a blanket over herself as she sat on the plane. She works for "Hooters" not exactly a name that you would take to church if picked it out from eHarmony. Hugh Hefner is in the biz to make money off opportune moments like this does she realize her choices are probably going to get her more than she bargained for? When it comes down to it as a person lives a few more years we begin to realize that there really aren't any redeeming vices only redeeming virtues. Whether these are her own choices or someone else is goading her on these decisions does she realize sometimes that kind of adVICE can become the worst VICE as time goes on? It can become a real slippery slope as history teaches to us. Then again, the reason history repeats itself is because nobody bothers to read it or write it down the first time sadly enough.

I watched the interview again and it was very noticable that when she stood up to show us her outfit and sat down, that you could see all the way up her skirt and it wasn't a long way up. Perhaps this is what the people on the airline were referring to. She was asked in the interview if this was a possibiltiy and said no but since she wasn't aware of what she was exposing when she sat down during the interview, perhaps she was ignorant to what was exposed on the plane when she sat. As far as her having a photo shoot in playboy, I could care less, that is her business and anyone that wants to look. But I do agree that if you are exposing yourself in public (on an airplane) where there are children present or it may be offense to others, then there should be consideration for the other travelers. They also purchased a ticket and had certain expectations.

What I find utterly distasteful is the degree to which people will sink in order to get noticed (get their "fifteen minutes of fame"). I don't think SW airlines should've made a big deal of this and certainly not if they don't have a stated dress code, but for people to celebrate her Playboy shoot as something laudable? Nudity/seminudity don't bother me; what does is the willingness of some to think her attitude is worthy of any particular praise and, even more than that, her chutzpah (if you can call it that)in stating her professional aspirations (to become a lawyer)as though law schools would find this display of indiscretion something they'd find valuable in an applicant to such profession (I guess some find notoriety--no matter how this is achieved--valuable in itself apart from whether this is negative or positive in value). The message this sends to people (reinforced millions of times in the popular news media)is that it is of utmost importance to be noticed (no matter what it is for: could be something good, bad...doesn't matter...that is immaterial...what really counts is the publicity). Nice.

I don't care about Playboy and there are certainly magazines that are much, much worse. I think she's proven herself to be (as most of us suspected) a publicity hound. As a college student myself, I have to say that this outfit clearly ignores the leg VS. cleavage rule of thumb (wear a miniskirt with a higher cut shirt, or a low cut shirt with a modest bottom).

Women's bodies are objects of beauty... not OBJECTS. She should have treated herself with more respect on that plane, never mind the people around her.

As for Playboy... well, admittedly some readers can and do appreciate the pictures for their beauty... but you do you know what a majority of readers are doing when they read those pages?
(Please don't make me spell it out.)

So, in conclusion...
Women are not objects.

Try treating yourself with respect by dressing tastefully, and if you feel the need to pose nude, find a painter, not a Playboy photographer.

To address the many topics and accusations thrown at me:
No, I am not ugly, nor fat. I am proudly a size 4, and if you think that's too fat, then I say you need to take a realistic look at women every day.
Second of all, the reason why I said Playboy is degrading wasn't the pictures alone. It's what playboy represents...it shows women as sex symbols. Personally, I don't want to be looked at as a sex symbol, which is why I am one of the very few left in this world who has chosen to dress fashionably modest. I work at a high fashion retail store and get paid to give people advice on clothing...and I make sure that nobody can see up my skirt or down my bra.

All in all, my point was that I thought her outfit was distasteful for a flight, and the way she has gotten her 15 minutes of fame and a photoshoot with Playboy is outrageous.
