Bruce is a poet. I've seen him at venues all over Europe since 3 times in 1985 in UK in Newcastle, Leeds and London. The last of those was 4th July and he came on solo with acoustic and started with Independence Day. This occasion I was at the concert with my 6 yr old son. I get goosebumps now 23 yrs later just thinking about that song of Father/Son breakdown. I was determined it wouldn't happen to us and I'm proud to say that my son and I are still best pals and he is just as much a fan of Bruce as I remain. Will queue all day to be at the front for the London concert. And my (same) wife and I are going to the Chicago concert too in seats this time.
Sorry if I'm going on but this guy is such a part of my life. Last story.... my daughter just got married and I got a Bruce quote into the "father of the bride" speech. It went over her head at the time but a whoop from son Jack on hearing "from small things, great things surely come".

my wife lori mulcahy davidson got to the studio at 4pm yesterday and has been waiting all night with a group of people. She is now near the front,but there is a VIP section between her and the stage. You can see her tattoo on the nbc website and her story on how his music saved her life.She has been talking about this performace since it was rumored to happen many weeks ago. She is going to see them play 9 times before they go to Europe after thanksgiving.She is a very big fan and has seen the band play more than 50 times!!!faith will be rewarded as she always says.

I too am a huge Bruce fan, and I do have tickets for the show in Hartford, Ct on Tuesday. Unfortunately, I had to pay triple the face value to get one, All the tickets went to the broker sites within 4 minutes of the time they went on sale. I got floor "seats", but found out later that the floor is "general admission" - basically, first come, first serve to get close enogh to the stage to see anything. When I see a Springsteen show, I get to relive my youth...Bruce and the Band make me feel 18 again. That's really something considering I'm 49 yeays old now. I'm actually afaid that I will fall and break a hip in the crush of people on the floor! I will always be a huge fan of Bruce, but at some point, the price of a ticket will be beyond my reach. And as all Springsteen fans know....it's ALL ABOUT THE SHOW! I'd love to ask Bruce to do something about this ticket problem. These days, the brokers win, and the fans lose. Bruce always sings for the common man, but these days, the common man doesn't stand a chance to get a ticket. I still love you Bruce!

Yea Bruce!! I lived on the Jersey Shore when Bruce and his band, then called Child, practiced at a Surfboard Factory. His then drummer, Vinnie Lopez, lived in the Factory and we used to go visit Vinnie and go surfing with him. Also saw the band at The Stoned Pony. Ah,,such great memories!! AMERICANA: Bruce has firmly entrenched himself and the E Street Band as a very large slice of our lives.Superb musicians all,(Nils once had a very successful rockin' band named Grin) They haven't missed a beat,while if you go to a Stones concert you kinda feel sorry for them because they've aged so,kinda like going to a baseball oldtimers game and lamenting the fact Willie Mays can't run like a deer anymore and cover the whole outfield all by himself.Well Bruce and the boys look and sound as good as ever. Must be all the chemicals in our Jersey water. It was great seeing the band on the Today show. Their sound is very tight. I first heard of Bruce& the E Street Band after listening to my older brother LP of "The Wild, The Innocent, & The E Street Shuffle. Ever since than it was hard not to accept his music, being from Philadelphia, Bruce's stories were that of the corner boys' in the urban cities of NYC, NJ & Philly. In 1978 I got to see him perform during the "Darkness on the edge of town", it was a " grueling 4 plus hours of showmanship. Keep on rockin'.

Awesome! This is great reading all the comments about Bruce! Yes indeed Bruce "The Boss" is the best at what he does. We have seen almost 500 concerts and his shows are by FAR the best. We have seen Bruce 14 times so far and have tickets to both of the Boston shows. We looking forward to the CD coming out on Tuesday. Keep on rocking!

Met my wife 24 years ago in Asbury Park @ THE Stone Pony when Bruce, Steve and Clarence crashed and played with Cats on a Smooth Surface in 1982. We always love catching him in concert when we can. A great friend and Bruce fan and I went to the Today show and it was fantastic! Bruce was relaxed and told a joke while we were waiting. I too have been a fan for thirty years and notice that some longtime fans on this site remember that he hates to be called "the boss". I wish the media knew that! Anyone who calls themselves a fan and calls Bruce boss, isn't really fan. I also agree that the ticket agencies,a.k.a.scalpers, need to be stopped. I think Bruce does his best to thwart it. The new songs were great. The Boss told Matt he was returning to his roots--writing 'big hooks'--and I loved it. I go way back with Bruce, little places like the Far Inn in Long Valley NJ and when he was the LEAD-IN group at the Convention Center in Asbury Park for groups like J. As a true Bruce fan I want to pass this on so people know for future use....there is a way to get Bruce tickets with out paying double or triple face. Backstreets.com has a section to buy, sell & trade tickets. In order to post on the forum you may not ask or offer anything above face value for the tickets (You can add in the service charges from ticketmaster & shipping. Some don't even charge to ship.) The site is monitored and people are removed that don't follow the rules. This site is for true Bruce fans...not those other people trying to make money by taking advatage of others. I have purchased tickets and have had no problem in the past - good luck!

I know the guy who gave Bruce his first indoor concert...they had no idea that the kid had it in him, but gave him a shot anyways....this is the same guy whose Godmother was Mae West and wrote the jingle 'I like to buy the world a Coke', he retired at age 30 and owns a hippie bar in Milwaukee, right next to his Greenbay Packer colored house. Why Milwaukee? His wife is a Dr. in town---Head of Cancer Ward evidently. Back to the subject of Bruce---a neat career to follow.
