Society has moved the fairer sex into a position of equality for careers and employment,(albeit not yet in salary) and women no longer cling to the "he'll provide for me" fairy tale. Rather, we look for someone real to truly share lives - work, passion, stability. Bulging muscles are often a facade that covers..... well, nothing - no intelligence, no substance, no personality. And Ann's comment about a sense of humor is right on target. Humor is essential for a successful relationship.

In my experience the skinny guys are the ones to watch out for. On a serious note, thin or not, one never knows what may be found intrinsically.

You become a person of power by putting forth your own effort and you look back at the end of the day and say I have no regrets - I lived and I loved - I gave my best effort to myself, my family, and to my friends, this day. And the next day comes and you start again. And you keep building - and you keep thinking - and you keep saying - and you keep dreaming - and you put forth all of your effort and you get it done. And finally, the day comes where you become - it becomes you and you become what you search for. And that is how it has to be...

So no, I do not agree with the statement, the assessment, that, in general, muscle men are more physically attractive but that thinner men are the better long-term bet.

I think that our culture has celebrated skin - be it Fabio on romance novels or Jenna Jameson in porn flicks - and that both men and women will have a certain attraction to those stereotypical "hot" people. Yet men and women, I believe, also both would rather be with someone who they can trust, laugh with, and enjoy a burger with. Hotties may get the "double-take", but most people want substance. Of course, if find a mate/date with both you get the best of both worlds.
