I am still unsure about Prof. Snape. Is he really with Lord Voldmort or is he still working for the Order. I think that the bartender at the Hog's Head Tavern is the brother of Albus Dumbledore. There were subtle clues in book 5 when the DA first meets at the Hog's Head Tavern. Harry feels a sense of familiarity when he see's him for the first time. At Dumbledore's funeral again he is mentioned. Dumbledore told Harry that his brother "Aberforth" was unusual and marched to a different drummer. I think that he will eventually come to Harry's aid and help him to finally defeat Lord Voldmort. Also I think it was Sirius Black's brother who had found the "horcrux" locket in book 6 and put in a replacement. If you read the initials in the note they are R for Regulus and B for Black.

I feel like I am losing my oldest child with the release of this book. My oldest son is the same age as Harry Potter (if he were a mortal child) and I have read these books with all 3 of my boys. By the time this one is release my oldest son will be getting ready for his senior year in high school and choosing his college. At least the book, no matter the ending, will prepare me for the start of my children leaving home. These books have been a joy for me and my children to read and I am so sad to see them come to an end.

Is it possible that Harry was a Horcrux, but is no longer one as Voldemort retrieved the part of his soul that was in Harry at the end of GOF (in the ritual in the cemetery)? This is my take...especially when Dumbledore got a "gleam in his eye" when Harry described what happened in the cemetery to him. It would seem that if Harry was a Horcrux, the ceremony (removing the part of Voldemort's soul conatined within Harry) would have freed Harry to destroy Voldemort without having to be destroyed himself and thusly making Dumbledore a very happy man since Harry would have a chance to survive a final encounter with Voldemort.

J.K Rowling has tons of foreshadowing throughout the Harry Potter series, often spanding across books. So, after reading all the books (again) and trying to look for these clues, I believe that Wormtail (WT) will play an important role in the demise of Lord Voldemort (LV). After LV is resurrected with WT's help and LV rewards him with the new shiny, strong hand, Wormtail picks up a twig and crushes it into powder. Later in the same book Dumbledore explains to Harry that he might be glad he spared WT's life. I believe that in Harrys and LVs final battle, both will lose their wands at the same time, and WT will grab LV's wand with the choice of who to help, and will decide to crush LV's wand into powder, thus trying to make up for his previous choices.

JK Rowling has brought our culture back to the joys of reading, how ever she ends this series, it will still captivate future generations and possible save us from becoming a video based culture. She has shown us she can do a fabulous job - so I'm confident what ever she does will be amazing! How one writer can inspire so many people to care so much - its a true gift! I don't know if she could ever do it again, or do more with a prequal - I'm just thankful she's done for us all what she has so far. She deserves to be the richest woman in England and if she decides she's done, she deserves that too! Maybe she'll inspire more writers who can do something as enthralling.

I am going to miss Harry Potter. My daughter actually started me on the books and now I am more of a Potter fan than she is. I cried when Sirius died. I hope we get some closure on those disgusting muggle aunt and uncle of Harry's, especially his fat cousin. I was hoping that after all Harry had been through when Sirius fell through the door of no return that maybe in some sequel he would return somehow. I would have loved to see Harry have some kind of happiness. I wish she would reconsider and maybe do one more, but I guess that would take away from the climax of Harry Potter. If she does call this the end, I certainly hope it is the end.....not really I would read another Harry Potter book in a heart beat.

Her books are popular with people of all ages, but Ms. Rowling is a mother and knows that children will read her books. She will leave us with a message of hope. I think Harry will live unless he must die so that Voldemort dies, thus he might have to sacrifice himself to save others. These books, like The Lord of the Rings series and the Star Wars films, are about good people uniting to vanquish horrible evil. They give us hope that, in today's world of very real evil, good people will unite to defeat it. It is interesting that in Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and Harry Potter (all hugely popular with the public) the "good guys" understand that the "bad guys" don't want peace; they want to destroy all goodness. The protagonists know that they must battle and defeat evil before there is real peace. How is it possible that the media misses this message? The media attempts to convince the American public that the evil people of today really do want peace; if we'd just leave them alone then the world would be at peace. Imagine what would have happened if everyone had left Voldemort, Darth Vader, and Sauron alone.

Jo has said that by the end of the series you will know everything about Harry's parents you need to know - there will be many revelations about them in Deathly Hallows. Jo is very determined not to be George Lucas and do prequels. I admire her for going out while she is on top. "Do Jenny and Harry stay together?" It's Ginny not Jenny. They may not be together at the start of the book but they will be by the end. Ginevra Molly Weasley will be a rather crucial character by the end of this series.

I think this is truly the end for Harry. I know Ms. Rowling says she isn't going to kill him off, but it's the only real way she can end the series. What better way to finish it off than by having Voldemort and Harry kill each other, the final showdown between good and evil complete, Harry dying a heroe. And as far as Professor Snape goes, any idiot can see clearly from the beginning that he is, and always will be, a Death Eater at heart. The man's pure evil and I'm hoping that before he dies, Harry gets to kill him and the Malfoys. I've been waiting for that from the beginning.

Dumbledore is dead, but I'm sure he will help Harry through his portrait at Hogwart's. It's been a long time since I read the last book, but I thought at the time that the horcrux could be in the Room of Requirement when it is used for storage. I definitely agree with one writer that Sirius Black's brother, Regulus, has one of the horcruxes. If so, then Harry can get it at Grimwald Place since he owns it now. I do not believe that Harry is a horcrux though, nor do I think J.K. Rowling will kill him off. I really hope that she doesn't kill off Ron or Hermione either. One thing I believe Rowling said was that it could be one or more main characters who die. That leaves Hagrid, Neville Longbottom, Luna Lovegood, or any member of Ron's family (if it has to be one, I hope it's Percy and not the other brothers or parents). As for Percy, I think he will finally come back to the family fold and be a hero.

If you llok closely at all the treasure surrounding the trio, you can see a suit of armour and a golden cup, more horcruxs??!?!?! well, im just waiting desperatley for july 21st!!! I think Harry, because harry is a horcrux, will symbolically die along with voldemort in the ministry of magics gate room (the room that holds the gate where Sirius black fell into and supposedly died). I think harry will go through the gate and separate himself from voldermort in there. Also I think that gate leads to another dimension, because it seems that people or souls are trapped there because you can hear their callings. Sirius “padfoot” or the Dogstar, or better yet, the guiding star, will lead harry out of the gate portal, and leave voldemort behind without the knowledge of getting out. Maybe they all loose their powers in there or someone else must switch places with them to get out. I have not worked out the kinks yet. But that’s what I think. Who know??

I think that Voldemort is definately going to die. As for Harry...who know except for those who have already had the privilege of reading it already and J.K. Rowling herself. I'm really hoping that Ron and Hermione get together and that Harry does live and he hooks up with Ginny. I don't really think Dumbledore is dead, but that he set something up with Snape to make Voldemort think he could finally make a move on Harry without to many people getting in his way. Also, I'm really hoping that Sirius makes another appearance. And even though this is the last book, J.K. Rowling has really done a great job with her work. It is very amazing that one writer could enthrall several different age groups, but several different culures as well. She has worked hard and gone through a great number of difficulties, therefore she deserves everything she has. I hope that she continues to write, she has a very unique gift and can go far with it.

Been a HP fan since the beginning. Can't believe its ending. Harry is not a Horcrux - wouldn't Dumbledore have said something about it to him??? Dumbledore will be around somehow (portaits?) for help. Not convinced on Snape for sure either way but I think he's good. Remember his argument w/ Dumbledore in 6 - I think it was Snape telling Dumbledore he refused to kill him. RAB has to be Regulus Black and in 5 when they're cleaning Grimauld Place out at the beginning they find a heart shaped necklace - a horcrux? I don't think I could handle it if Harry, Ron, Hermione, or Ginny die. My bets on Hagrid since Harry's lost every other parent-figure in his life.

I hope Harry dosen't die. I think we've all been expecting it from the beginning, like this was some fate that rested for him. There is no way that Miss Rowling can finish the series completely and not have it end this way. Otherwise, and I'm sure of it, people will continue to finish writing the book, and that is not right. I too think that Dumbledore's portrait will help Harry find the other Horcruxes. I also agree with the barman being Aberforth and Sirius' brother Regulus having the locket Horcrux. Unforunately, I have a strange feeling that either Ron, Hermione, (or even Ginny?) dieing. I highly disagree with the idea that Snape is really a good guy. In conclusion, I hope that Hagrid gets to kill Snape, Neville gets to kill (Bellatrix) Lestrange, and Harry gets to do Voldemort in.(Then Harry will marry Ginny, Ron marry Hermione, and Neville marry Luna).

Wormtail will probably kill Lupin, with his silver hand. Snape is not a true death eater, and will ultimately help Harry. Sadly, Dumbledore is dead. It will be interesting to see if Fawkes returns for the last book. Harry is the seventh horcrux. Avada-Cadarva curse, leaves no mark. Harry can speak parsel-toungue. Only he and Voldemort can pull off that unique language. As sad as it is that the series is ending, its exciting that the book to answer sveral questions, is almost here! We will still have the last two movie to look forward to..

I don't think Dumbledore is dead. I think the big clue was in book 1 when Snape said he could "Stopper Death". It has to be a plan cooked up by Dumbledore & Snape to lull the death eaters into false security (and that's also why Dumbledore's picture doesn't speak in book 6; Prof. McGonnogell is part of the Order...easy enough to pull off). Pretending to be dead also frees the-I-don't-need-a-cloak-to-be-invisible Dumbledore to look for Horcruxes unobserved (this may even be revealed early on in the book, as it may be that Dumbledore urges Harry to stay in school, and to keep it a secret). Though I do like some of your all's theories, like the Regulus Black theory, the aunt Petunia theory or the Ministry's Gate Room theory. It seems to me the one who dies, besides Voldemort, has to be someone that would be unexpected and would make you not just cry, but bawl & wail. Some possible candidates for that are Snape (to repay his debt), Neville (to avenge his parents), Aunt Petunia (who knew more about the wizarding world than we thought, for a reason) or Malfoy (in book 6- Harry tried to help him after attacking him, and he seemed stunned & reluctant to go after Snape attacked Dumbledore...). Either way, I've started re-reading all the books as a countdown to the last, and I'm getting highly anxious...

I believe that the curtains on the sides are actually the veil that Sirius died through. I also beilieve that the Hallows (which is defined as "to shout or yell") are the calls that Harry heard when he first went by the veil in the 5th book. The silhouette of the people in the background could be the "Deathly Hallows" referred to in the title and the people behind the veil. In the end, I believe that Harry and Voldemort will both die (Harry being a horcrux)as a result of Harry pulling both himself and Voldemort through the veil.

Does any one realize that Dumbledore is an animagous? In the second book, JKR writes that Dumbledore used to be the transfiguration teacher before becoming headmaster. I think he can transform into a phoenix. This is supported by scenes in the last book during his funeral when his body burst into flames (just like a phoenix does on its burning day) and Harry at that moment thinks he sees a phoenix rising up among the flames. This all leads me to wonder if the phoenix who saved Harry in the Chamber of Secrets was actually Dumbledore.

It is so amazing to read all the comments on this article. HP maybe a children's book but as previously mentioned by fans, this book transcends all ages. Probably transcends time when the generations of today will pass it on to the next. A big shout out for JK Rowling's work on HP. You have inspired millions. You have made us aware of how a young woman like yourself can and will accomplish goals as long as we put our minds to it. A lot of guesses are being sent on this blog, mine would be, Harry will not die but will be given a choice on how he will handle things with Voldermort especially on his final battle with him. He will have to choose whether to destroy Voldermort or save someone in danger. For sure he will be enraged by Voldermort's tauntings and probably killing one of Harry's friends or one of HP's newly found ally (like Snape or Wormtail). Mr. Levine said it is emotional because it is the final book and all of us would really, really hate it to end. I would have to agree w/ one of the comments that Snape will probably save Harry in the end or save one of his friends. Wormtail will be instrumental - - unknowingly he might be the reason for Voldermort's downfall...I guess, with numerous endearing characters in the story, each twist and end result will be heart wrenching. Whatever ending it will lead the story - we can be sure that JK Rowling promises a heart warming closure. Am thinking of 3 items that will help HP in the end "Valor, Love and Faith. I hope that the succeeding movies for the HP series will continuously improve each year. I won't complain if the next 2 movies of the HP series will last 3 hours...=)

Interesting comments; everyone seems to have ideas on what will happen and who will be involed, sadly no one mentioned Nevil Longbottom. I think he is more important them people think being the other possible canadit til Voldmmort tried to kill Harry. I don't know if Snape is good or bad, he never killed Harry,even protected him twice (the quiddich match 1st year and shielded Harry Ron and Hermione when Lupin turned into a warewolfe in the 3rd book), but he killed Dumbledore (while under an unbreakable vow, did he know when he made it that he would have to kill Dumbledore or die). One person said they hoped the Malfloys die, I feel sorry for Draco, everything he is he was bread and indoctrinated to be. He couldn't go through with killing Dumbledore in the end and it seemed like he was about to take the offer to hide him and his mother right before the other death eaters came in. Plus, he and his mother can't be pure evil because they show/express that they love/care for eachother, and evil can not know love which means that there must be some good inside them somewhere. Whatever happens its sure to be a good book and I look forward to reading it.

I personally think the final battle will take place at Godrics Hollow, with someone that loves Harry sacrificing themselves for him. I view the ending as Harry casting some ancient magic at Voldemort and Voldemort casting the Avada spell at Harry. Harry's spell will destroy Voldemorts body and Voldemorts spell will destroy the scar on Harry's forehead, which we will find out is a Horcrux. But Harry will live in the end. Again, I see the story ending as it began. This saga began with the creation of a lightening bolt scar and will end with the destruction of that scar.

Has anybody considered the possibility of Minerva McGonagall being a secret death eater? I know it sounds crazy, but in THBP she uncharacteristically demands of Harry information that she knows Dumbledore wished to remain secret. She also uncharacteristically lobbies to shut down Hogwarts after fighting so hard to keep Hogwarts open in TCOS (which behooves Voldermort more than anyone else, as it makes Harry a sitting duck!). If she is not working for Voldermort what did she gain by waiting outside number two Privet Drive on the day of the death of Harry's parents, without being there at Dumbledore's request? So far we have not once been suprised by a revealing of a death eater, as they are all obvious "bad guys". Who is Voldermort's "trojan horse"? Is it possible that, magician like, J.K. Rowling has used a slight of hand to draw our attention to Snape while the real traitor in our midst is McGonagall?

I think that there are a good number of people that may die, but Harry might not be one of them. In the Order of the Phoenix (that's coming out July 13! Go see it!) when Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville and Luna were in the Department of Mysteries the book said that both Neville and Harry had a prophecy, but Harry's prophecy was destroyed when trying to escape throgh the veil while Neville's was still intact. Neville may have an important role because of the prophecy so he has a chance of dying. Snape may still be with the Order and could help Harry destroy the Dark Lord. The Dark Lord may find out about this and kill Snape off because of his betrayal, and that's just naming a few people. I also think that Dumbledore and Sirius are still alive, but in hiding. In the Order of the Phoenix, Sirius dissapeared through the veil. It said nothing about him dying, people. In the Half-Blood Prince, that may have not been Dumbledore at all. That may have been someone or something else that looked like him. Dumbledore, being as brilliant as he is, may have suspected that Malfoy was a death eater (probaly in-training) and the ambush or may have gotten a tip from Snape and probably "faked" his own death. Still, it is sad to see the series end but I am excited to find out what happens to the "Boy Who Lived" and I hope that J.K. Rowling writes a prequal!

Snape knows this secret and helped D achieve this status (kind of like Obi-Wan Kenobi). I mean, she's played with us so much concerning Snape. You love him, you hate him, you love him, you REALLY hate him. JK is just playing with us now. Snape is a good guy! I think it would be hilarious if JK broke the fourth wall (like in Steven King's Dark Tower series) and called the seventh book a horcrux. You know? Can't you just see the massive book burnings? That would assure that many, many, many books will be bought, read and burnt... then re-bought, read and burnt. Repeat process. Now that's dramatic irony.

People who will die: Voldemort (Voldy) will definitely die...He can't stay alive - for obvious reasons. Apart from that, one of the following may die: Harry, Ginny, Draco, Snape (and maybe even Dobby or Wormtail).. Harry will definitely kill Voldemort. But after that someone else will kill him, or try and kill one of the persons on the list, and Harry will sacrifice himself for the other person. Why? Ginny - well obviously, everyone Harry has truly loved has died (his parents, sirius, dumbledore...) Draco - I think he will turn good. Then he will die to save Harry or Harry will die trying to save Draco. Snape - we will finally learn what Snape had to go through, how he's actually good (and did everything he did on Dumbledore's orders) and Snape will die saving Harry or someone else. .... I am also pretty sure that Dumbledore will have left Harry a note or a long memory in the pensieve telling him what happened and why...clarifying a lot of stuff.

I think that the curse Harry gets from the Half-Blood Prince's Potions book will play a big part, the curse that he used to cut Malfoy. This was a curse that Snape (the Half-Blood Prince) made up himself, so it is entirely possible that Voldemort doesn't know about it (and therefore, might not know the counter-curse). And we've already seen that it's a potentially deadly curse. Whether this is how Harry defeats Voldemort or not, this curse will play some kind of important role: I don't think Rowling would introduce such a powerful and deadly curse just so that Harry can accidentally cut Malfoy in a moment of panic.

The Potter series constitutes a classic good versus evil epic. Harry must survive so that good defeats bad. Harry has throughout the series taken the right path rather than the easy. Perhaps it was his Muggle upbringing but from the first he was able to tell Malfoy he was capable of selecting is own friends. Snape most likely will pull through on the good side, he and Dumbledore had a strange and entwined history but he had Dumbledore's trust. Snape's reaction towards Harry was not entirely antagonistic but one of someone who whated Harry to be all his mother was but disdained of any traits that he saw as Harry's father's. Book seven has a lot of loose ends to weave together and I will be re-reading HBP before DH comes out. I am wondering if Filch will ever perform magic, maybe Hagrid will get a wand!

I must admit, I am living proof of somebody who never read that much and because of JK Rowling's books, I am now enjoy reading and do it more often. I'm going to miss the Harry Potter books mostly because of all the fun times I've had over the years reading the books, speculating on what will come next, watching the movies, going on the message boards and reading them to my younger brother. The Harry Potter books have taught me so much about life, love and losss and I might add that I owe my good grades to Miss Hermione Granger who encouraged me to try my hardest and taught me to love school. If I could personally thank JK Rowling for all the guidance her books have provided me, than I would, but I suppose continuing to read and buy her books will certainly be payment enough. I'd wish her good luck in the future but it would appear that it's already with her. Thank you, JK Rowling, for all that you've done in my life and I only hope you can continue to inspire more people with you gift of writing, just as you inspired me!

Harry Potter. What can you say? It has been one of my most favorite books ever. I just love Rowling, her writing, and this story. There's nothing that I can say that TRULY illustrates how much I love the Harry Potter series. I have never seen a writer write that good, allowing the reader to depict an exact image when reading a piece. I have read these books almost twice, except for Half-Blood Prince, which I have read 3 times. I JUST LOVE THEM!!!! Rowling has been given me something to look forward to, something that makes me happy. I believe the seventh book, as so many predict, will be history making.... one of the best ever (not to mention how many there'll be sold in the first 24 hours). One thing is that I just cannot wait 'till the last book. So many questions it will answer and so many hearts it will sadden. Who will be the two characters that Rowling has advised us will die? Who will die, Harry or Voldemort? Who will be the new teachers at Hogwarts? Whose side is Snape really on? Who is R.A.B? Can Dumbledore talk to Harry via the portrait in his office? Will Harry be able to communicate with Sirius through the mirror? What are the other Horcruxes? Will Harry discover and inherit Fawkes, the Phoenix? What will Harry do at Godric's Hollow? Is Malfoy really going to come to Harry's aid (more specifically the good side) seeing as he was reluctant in killing Dumbledore and seemed afraid? All this I cannot wait to find out!!! Rowling, you're awesome!!!!!!! There is...NOTHING that I can say that describes how much I love Harry Potter...Now I have to wait, though I hate it, for the last and final Harry Potter book to come out. Harry Potter has been a really great book that has inspired young readers and adults to grab a book instead of what many are saying, video games and dvd's. I have a friend who honestly thinks that Snape is a good character.But since I have read the Harry Potter series at least 20 times I really think that Snape is a horrible person and that he will die of guilt. At the end of the last book it said that Harry has to go to the Fleur's and Bill's wedding before going anywhere.What I think will happen at the wedding is that Harry took Ginny, Ron, Hermione, and the rest of the good guys[girls] and went back to Hogwarts with the said he can from pro. mcgonaggal and looked at the Room of Requirement to check if a horcrux was in it and there was but it was a strange thing that the room was all wrong and they walk right into a trap of voldemorts and they have a magical fight and voldemort and harry both kill each other but since harry still has the one thing voldemort doesn't LOVE, he came back alive , married ginny, ron and hermione get married and neville marrys luna lovegood. hagrid marrys the big woman and they all live happiely ever after. I noticed that both Voldemort and Harry are wandless. It's well known that they can't fight with their wands due to prior incatum (sp?) so it's most likely that this is a scene from their final battle. Perhaps one of their wands was destroyed, one flew up into the air, and thats what they're reaching for. Also, the figures in the background look like they could be two things: death eaters or dementors. I think that the dementors will play a significant role in this book be cause if Harry is a horcrux (which I think he is) and dementors can suck SOULS out of people then maybe there is a way for them to suck out Lord Voldemort's soul from him without significantly harming Harry. Well, the only people who really know what is going to happen is J.K.R., her editors, and the illustrators. I can't wait untill July 21!

I think Voldemort will have a new wand so he can try and kill off Harry. In book 6 it says the wand-maker guy (can't think of his name right now) who sold Harry his wand (which was made from the same phoenix tail as Voldemort's) has come up missing. Obviously Voldemort figured out in the Order of the Phoenix that the two wands kind of canceled each other out and he couldn't kill off Harry, so he maybe is trying to get Leander (?) to make him a new one?? Just a thought...

It is a very interesting cover. The locket around Harry's neck, the way he and Voldemort are both reaching out for something; I'm filled with anticipation. I, for one, do not think that Harry could possibly be a Horcrux, if he was then why has Voldemort tried to kill him this past few years? As for Snape... well lets hope he meets a sticky end.

I agree. Harry Potter has changed the reading habits of a very, very large group of children in the US and around the world. I have only one complaint, a big one. I have heard that more people in Seattle read more than in any other major city. I can only imagine the number of Harry Potter books that have worn out due to use in Seattle. My concern: Why isn't Seattle one of the destination of the Harry Potter Bus. We are an overynight drive from any California city...a beautiful drive, I might add. I believe with a minute amount of additional time, you can bring your bus to Seattle. Why so many days in California. And you know, the children of this most wonderful city deserve to be included among the thousands of children that will benefit from having the HP Bus in their town. Ok, Harry kill LV and the Ron, Hermione, Draco and Harry become the new heads of Hogwarts. Hermione- Ravenclaw, Harry- Griffendor, Draco- Slytherine Ron Hufflepuff. notice how each charater has the qualities that each house represents.... The only way to have unity is to work together. Snap was working on Dumledore's orders, Why else would he not kill Harry. I think Albus thought that with him out of the way. Voldy will be far more comfortable and bold with out him around. Also it is a way to unite all of the wizarding world.

Some very interesting speculation in these comments. HP has lost everybody he has ever loved or been close to, and at the end of the last book he is now in love w/Ginny. HP has been told numerous times when speaking w/Albus that his ability to Love is the most important thing in the confrontation w/LV. Could be that HP jumps in front of a curse to save Ginny and she kills LV.

All of us in our family are grateful and inspired by the writings of J.K. She is able to commute children and adults alike to a world full of mystery, magic, and mayhem at the open of any of her books. For whatever real event tragedy that our real lives are exposed to, she is capable of drawing us away from the ugliness of this world so we may marvel at the world Harry lives at Hogwarts. We like many readers do not want the saga to end, but I will still enjoy what we are given and read them over and over and I agree with the person who wrote that the movies should be longer. Gone with the wind was an epic and I think that these stories need to be given their deserved "face time" on screen. Snape was bewitched in his hand of Dumbledore's death especially in due part of making a bonding promise. I believe Harry has a chance. It was also mentioned in earlier books of a good luck potion and if take all that one does is a success and good fortune. Harry need only to take this to assist his quest. Also, the Malfoy's are so much into the school being only for full-blooded wizards that they themselves fail to see that Lord Voldemort is a what draco called Herminoe as a "Mudblood". interesting......... I am SO excited for this last book. Most of the comments in here are quite intelligent, and there are some I have actually never considered before and will have to dedicate some thinking time to (like the fact that maybe Voldy already took the horcrux from Harry in the cemetary - I liked that one). I am actually surprised that (seemingly) only one person (Dee, from PA) has addressed the theory that Neville may be "the one" from the prophecy, and that it may not be Harry at all. Neville and Harry are almost identical in their histories and what they are made up of; the main differences between them are choices and circumstance. I certainly wouldn't claim that Harry has a more noble heart or is more brave than Neville. He's just less nerdy and much more public, in my opinion. Or, it could be that Neville was "the one" at first, until Voldemort attacked Harry as a baby, like a self-fulfilling prophecy that exists simply because Voldy believed it was so and acted accordingly. Voldy could be the master of his own destiny too, even unwittingly. Either way would work for me, but I do think that Neville will play a much greater role in the final book. If he doesn't, I refuse to believe that J.K. didn't at least heavily consider it. I don't believe she writes a single line or detail without leaving a door open to herself for a possible plot in the future that is dependant upon that detail. Of course, she doesn't have room to add all possible plots into the series. But what I really hope most of all, despite all my theories and the other fascinating theories I've read, is that Rowling suprises the heck out me with this next book, because that is what I truly love about her books - that they are smarter than I am, no matter how smart I get. Thank you, J.K. Rowling! I appreciate your meticulous efforts.

I am sad that this will be the last book but I am also very eager for July 21 to come so I can find out exactly what happens to Harry. Something I caught while re-reading the fith book (Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix)was that while they are cleaning out one of the rooms at Number Twelve Grimwauld Place they come across a locket that wont open. Since Sirius' brother, Regulus Black, once lived there, maybe he is the one who stole the locket from the cave. Also his initals fit the signiture on the note that was left inside the fake horcrux(R.A.B- Regulus Black.)Since the writer of the note only left his initals we assume that Voldemort would have known him personaly, and when Harry and Sirius are looking at Sirius' family tree in the fith book, Sirius mentions that Regulus was killed by Voldemort and was one of his followers, so that means that Voldemort would have known him. But since Regulus is dead, he will be no help to Harry right? Well, since you would have to have two people to retrieve the locket, mybe the person that was with Regulus is still alive and Harry can get some information from him or her. I also dont think Dumbledore is dead or that Snape is evil. I think that they staged Dumbledores death as well as Sirius'.
