From TODAY correspondent Jill Rappaport

What a great way to start the month of October: with a new installment of From Bow To Wow. This time, my producer Vivian Fel and I went to Animal Care & Control of NYC, and picked out three fabulous dogs all hoping to find the perfect home.

First, we have the lovable Betty, who was tragically found next to her owner who was deceased. Needless to say she is terribly sad, but despite her trauma, she is so affectionate, but desperately in need of a loving home now.

Next we have Max, the energetic, young golden retriever who was given up by his owner who sadly is homeless ... now Max is, too. Finally there is Ollie, an adorable Maltese mix puppy, whose owners just gave him up! All of these dogs are healthy, sweet, affectionate and beautiful. The only thing they do not have is a home ...

Dear viewers: For more info on adopting these animals, please visit the Web site for Animal Care and Control of New York City.

Has Ollie been adopted yet?  I'd like to adopt him.
I want Ollie!!!  How can I get him?
Where can we find Max.  He's PERFECT.
Now that was just funny, I don't care who ya are!  Great segment Meredith!! Still smiling.
OMG!  Thanks for the morning laugh with the end of your segment on the dogs.  It was hilarious!  I am sure we will see that ending segment again in the future!   Hope they all find great homes.
I am interested in getting in touch with you to adopt Ollie.  I live in upstate NY, have a fenced in yard, just recently retired with grown children (out of state).  Would love to give Ollie a forever home.
What were they saying about Betty suffering from separation anxiety?
Looked like Max was trying to make an intimate connection with her.
Priceless!
Ur segment this morning was Hilarious!!! I tell yah, u just cant control nature...wen it calls,a dog will answer. Im still laughing.LOL!!!
I was wondering if the owner of the one dog is still homeless or if they were able to find a home?
I thought the item on the makeover pets was really special but it was also hilarious - trying to pull them apart was something that no one could have staged no matter how well the dogs were trained - Meredith -  priceless!!!!!
I was watching the show today and am interested in Ollie. I do live out of state and was wanted to get more info on him.

I like to adopt Betty, or I heard Al was calling her Jill, anyway the one that the owner died.  I had my belowed cat for eleven years and lost him five years ago.  I have a special care son, he would be happy to have new dog, and I absolutely love animals, and I don't work outside the house......Thank you in advance for giving us a chance to enjoy Betty as well as taking care of her.  Sincerely: Elley Grzesiak
Hi...I am desperate to adopt Max the Golden; but cannot find a person to speak to regarding him.  Please have someone get back to me asap.  Our Golden Sophie misses Sam who passed away last year at the age of 12.
i want to adopt ollie for my kids and my late mother would love me cause of the type of dog. any info mail me,please.
how hard would it be to adopt ollie to canada
I'd take Ollie in a heartbeat if you could arrange for Amtrak to drop him off in Rouses Point, NY. I have a carrier and live around the corner from the rail station. 518-206-4095

How about a link that actually features the pets shown in the segment? Can't find them at all on the website for Animal Care and Control of NYC!
I saw the segment on the pups' make over.  The ending was a hoot BUT as a volunteer in dog rescue (Tenn Valley Golden Retriever - TVGRR.COM) for over 12 years let me assure you that the golden's behavior was probably about dominance as oppose to sex. If the opportunity arises you may want to clarify the difference.  Thanks for helping the Shelter animals.
you can never find these dogs on the animal care and control website, all they ever have are pit bulls/ and pit bull mixes. I was looking for Max
Ollie -- I have one Yorkie mix (4 years old) a large home, 3+ acres of play space and lots of love for this little one.  But he would have to become a Viking's football fan -- purple would be a good color for Ollie.  Is he available for adpotion?
I was interested in adopting a dog (Betty) from the today show.  Impossible to call NYC Animal Care and Control.  Can you give me info on how to do this.
we have a growing family and want max. he's beautiful and would be the best indoor/outdoor pet for us. 3 of my daughters would love to walk him and run wild in the fenced yard we can provide, along with being inside to snuggle with.
Love Ollie. Would like to adopt. Send more info. Great segment.  Guess dogs don't care that they are on tv ha.
How can I adopt Olle? He would just be perfect for our family. We have a Wheaten Terrier(Corkey) and lost  his sister Carrie this summer from kidney failure. PLEASE--Ollie would be just PERFECT!!
I will fly New York today to get Ollie.
I watched this segment and couldn't help but feel think how ironic it is that Max is featured as a dog needing a home, when he was reportedly given up because his owner was homeless!  I saw an earlier comment by "Lynne", and i agree that there should be some concern and effort shown to help the homeless PERSON as well (and perhaps Max could be reunited with his owner).  Please give this some thought.  I imagine Lynne and I are not the only viewers concerned about the person as well as the dog.  Thanks, ann verlander
Would love to adopt Max. We have afour-year old peekapoo and just lost our 6 year old golden to cancer this year. It left a huge whole in all our hearts and when I saw Max I just knew he would be the dog for us. Am trying to call the shelter but cannot get through. Can you help?
just lost our 6 year old golden to cancer this year.

There is a huge hole in our hearts
Has Ollie been adopted yet, I have a 1 1/2 year old
Yorkie/Poo,black like Ollie, his name is Dexter and he is a very loving pet and very spoiled member of our family.  Dexter also has a sister and brother
pair of boxers, and let me tell you Dexter rules these
two and that's always been soon after his arrival. Dexter needs a buddy.  My husband and I haved talked
about this for a long time and decided that we didn't
want to pay a high cost of pedigree dogs, that would
rather adopt and when we seen Ollie we knew that he
is the one to join our family and it would be a very
loving family.  We have a fenced back yard for playing
and excise, we also walked our dogs 3 times a week, they all have ther own beds and bowls. Dexter is the
only one allowed in the car because of being the
smallest, Sammy and Sophie are larger and I have leather seats.  Dexter is now letting us know when he
wants to go for a car ride and a treat from the Dairy
Queen.  This summer my husband bought me a special
basket for my bike so I can take Dexter along and he sits like a king in that basket. Thank You and please
consider us.  Our pets our Family. Can I do this living in Iowa?
I would love to have Ollie or Betty. I have 2 cats and a King Charles Cavilier . I loved the dogs you had on this morning they are adorable. I would love to be considered for this adoption, I have references if need and I adore animals!
I want to adopt Max. I live in Colorado and have plenty of love, time, and space for Max to play. I have a 14 month old Golden named Bentley. The two would be awesome together. Please, please consider me. Max needs my home.
We would like to adopt Ollie. We are in Billings Montana. How can we do it from here?
I fostered Max before the show and he is the BEST dog ever.  He is really energetic while out on his walks and at the dog park (he's only one and a half!) but is SO well-behaved when at home.  Completely housebroken and calm and doesn't bark at all.  He loves to sleep close to wherever his owner is and he loves to burrow either under the couch or under the bed.  Such a loveable dog - I was sad to give him back!!

As for the humping - I took him to the dog park every day and he definitely wasn't running around humping every dog there.  I don't know why he did that!!!
I am very interested in adopting Max. I have two goldens already and Max would make it a happy trio.
Please have someone contact me regarding his adoption.  I live out of state but will arrange to pick him up.
I've tried all morning to get to this point (computer illiterate) I am so interested in Max the Golden Retreiver. On June 9, 2009 I lost my best friend an companion to cancer. Scully was my 12 1/2 year od golden retreier, he was ans still is the love of my life (unconditional love). When I saw Max this morning my heart went out to him I felt the feelins I had when I first saw Scully. I can't repace Scully, nor would I want to, he's irreplacable. However, I still have a lot of love to give and I so miss the companionship. Please, if he's still available, give me the chance to love and care for him.  Thank you, Rosemarie
Our family would also like to adopt Max.  We are a FIRESTORM 2007 family here in San Diego and we said when we got back into our house, we were adding to our family with another golden.  Max is our pick!  Please contact us if we can get him.
They all deserve a loving home.May god bless them all with a loving home. I see that there are so many caring people out there.
We understand the need to adopt these adorable dogs, but don't forget that you will also find adoptable dogs from your local shelters and rescue groups. We have found our 2 "soulmates" from our local Golden Retriever Rescue Group. There are rescue groups for many breeds! Please check out your local area groups!!
I am very, very interested in Ollie for he would be great company for my mimi schnauzer. This is my third mini and we had one for 13yrs. with pancreatitis but we took good care and she was here for a good time. My second was 11 and had a stroke, she was wonderful. We got Hannah now and she will be 5 but I wanted 2 when I got her, her brother was so sweet but 2,600.00 was a lot.  What would we have to do. Please think about us as he is so sweet and at this time I have a son in crisis, terminally ill and I need a lift and some one to give Hannah a good time playing, my time is some times taken up. We care 100% for our animals. Thank you
Wish I could adopt all of these dogs, but I know they will all go to good homes!  I am a PROUD owner of a 3 yr. old Golden Retriever and I am wondering about some of the other owners of Golden's saying that their dog passed away from cancer. Is this typical of this breed?
Instead of asking about how you can adopt one of the dogs shown, head over to a local Animal Shelter and get one in your area that really needs a good home.
is max still available for adoptation. our family has one golden retreiver her name is abby.and we thought max would make a good play mate.
Thank you all for the comments.

Ollie has been adopted.  We are still taking applications for Betty and Max.

I would love Max!!  Syracuse New York  We have a fenced in yard and he would get lots of TLC!!
