TODAY anchors reveal their role models...

It's important to have role models in life. Growing up, I always looked up to my dad.  Well, my dad and Kirby Puckett. He was the epitome of a baseball player -- athletic, smart.  He was not only a leader in the clubhouse, but in the community as well.  The same can be said about my dad. Except for maybe that whole athletic thing (sorry dad). But he served as the perfect example when it came to a work ethic that I still strive to duplicate.

Everyone has these mentors in their life, including our anchors here at TODAY. So, I decided to ask the TODAY family in this week's Getting to Know TODAY: Who's your role model? Some of their answers may surprise you...

Be sure to tell us about your role models below!

Don't forget to add your ideas for future "Getting to Know TODAY" questions as well. Hopefully we'll pick yours. As always, check the allDAY blog every Tuesday to learn the latest answers to all your burning questions about the TODAY family!

Have a great week, and be sure to give a quick thanks to that role model in your life, regardless of their connection to you or...their athletic ability.

My mom and sister are owners of Market Street Toffee....they make the best toffee ever!  I am so lucky to have them as role models in my life!
My Stepfather was my role model. Taught me my trade. Was a great guy
My mom and dad. They have been married 50 years
and my brothers and sisters are so proud that
they are our parents
My dad...hands down.  He is so funny, so logical, so street smart, a great Christian and did I mention funny?  I am not sure I appreciated him as a child but 40 years later, he is really the best.  I see alot of him in me as I get older and I love it!  I want to be like him when I grow up!
My parents were and are my role models. They both taught me to never give up. Even when things are at there worst, there will always be an up side.
They told me that I could do anything, and I will be successful at what ever I put my mind to. To never be afraid to to dream, and to go for it.
My mom is definitely my role model.  She's 85 years old today and is taking care of my 87 year-old dad who has Alzheimers.  My mother has been a caregiver her whole life. In addition to being a mom, she wore many hats, impeccable seamstress, cook, housekeeper, gardener, and grammy and still going strong!  I love you Mom and Happy Birthday!
My Dad and sister, who have instilled a good work ethic in me,and to laugh at yourself.  Also, to have a great sence of humor! My Dog (petey) who reminds me that each day is the most exciting day of my life, and that digging for moles makes everyday worth getting up for!!!
