Which TODAY anchor would you bring to a deserted island?

The TODAY anchors have traveled far and wide .... including some remote islands! But no matter who you are or who you are stuck with, life on a deserted island would require some resourcefulness to be sure you make it off the island alive! In this week's "Getting to Know TODAY" we ask the TODAY family: If you were stranded on a deserted island, which TODAY anchor would you take with you to ensure your survival and why? 
 
 
 
If you had the decision to make, which TODAY anchor would you decide to bring with you?  Would it be Matt, who has traveled all over with "Where in the World is Matt Lauer?"  Or would you choose to bring Ann, the woman who has climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro?  Maybe you'd opt for some comedic relief and take along Kathie Lee?! Don't forget to add your ideas for future "Getting to Know TODAY" questions as well. Hopefully we'll pick yours.

Meredith Vierira - love her quirky sense of humor. If she was already stranded with some one else, Al Roker would be right there at the top of the list for the same reason.

No doubt about it...I'd want Jenna Wolfe. She is in incredible shape and has a great sense of humor. Frankly, if we were stuck on an island together, I'm not sure how quickly I'd want to discover a way off of it.

I would definitely take Ann Curry with me if I was stranded.  In watching her travel far and wide for the Today Show, I believe she has the persistence and perseverance to overcome any and all obstacles.

If I were stranded on desert island, I would want Al Roker there with me, because his wonderful sense of  humor and positive attitude would keep my spirits up, thus helping me not too lose hope in the face of adversity.

I'd want to take Matt Lauer definitely for his experience and knowledge of the world but I would also want Jenna Wolfe because she'd keep me in shape and inspire me not to eat like a pig as we're traveling.  The steps inthe Empire State building still inspire me!

Darn, that would be a tough decision. I would have to go with my "big brother" figure, Lester. He knows how to whip it up in the kitchen, although we wouldn't have one. He could throw some coconuts and mangos together will I did some heavy duty fishing. He's into gadgets, so he could do the "professor" thing from "Giligan's Island" and make us a radio. He could probably even make me a dress and I could do the "Ginger" thing. He knows a thing or two about planes. So if we ever saw a wrecked plane from World War 2, he could proably fix that. But there would have to be an understanding before we even started our grand adventure. We're not going to have a monkey as a pet and he's not going to refer to me as Jane. And he would have to wrestle a crocodile and make me a great purse and pair of shoes. Oops, I just move Lester and myself from an island to the jungle. It's all good.

I would bring Ann for her resourcefullness and willingness to get in the mix, help out and experience out there roughing it.  I do not get the feeling that during the WITWIML that Matt "roughs" it at all.  I would bring Al second, because he seems to be able (from other cooking shows) to pull anything together for a meal, so that would be useful on the island.  Hands down, no competition it would be Ann (are we sponsored by Mountain Wear or The North Face?).

Most definite Ann, she brings about an abience to any situation. She is also very thoughtful of other people and nice. I don't know why you would say Kathie Lee is an anchor --she is a certified know it all and needs to be canned.

I would take along Meredith Viera.  She's super smart, funny, and the quintessential woman; mother, wife, and newscaster/TODAY Show host.  Meredith would know what to eat, where to sleep and how to signal for help, all while making us laugh. Then when we where rescued, she'd tell our story on TODAY with Matt's help!

Well...I guess I can only bring one.  I think I would pick Meredith.  This is an experience that is bound to bring most people down - and you need someone who can keep reaching for solutions and stay positive.  Meredith has so much common sense, and is so positive, that somehow, I think together we would be able to figure a way off the island -  unless, of course,  we got speared by wild boars before we could spear them, or eaten by mountain lions or roasted on a spit by canibals.  Do canibals still exist? Even so, Meredith could probably engage them in conversation and we might live long enough to borrow their canoes!   If we can bring one more, I would bring Al. I think everyone must know him by now, and if we were beseiged by pirates while waiting for our rescue, Al could proabably engage them in some interesting weather-related story - or he could talk about some of his own adventures with Matt, get them interested in diving for burried treasure, or just use his star power, while Meredith and I try to figure out out how to borrow their boat! Plus...Al probably knows what to do with conch and we would be hungry and need that experience!  He's traveled to the Keys recently and probably has lots of those recipes tucked away in his head.  Plus, if we see the wild boar first, we might be able to have barbeque! Meredith and I would need Al!

Ann, without a question. She is knowledgeable, persistent, seemingly fearless but with enough caution and wisdom as to stay safe. Also, with her very congenial personality I think we could hit it off and in no time be talking about a hundred topics; she could  be genuinely interested in hearing someone else's opinion. Ah, and I love her sense of humor and how candid she can be. It would be so interesting to be able to pick her brain about so many things...

Okay. I'm a businessman. Skip the idea of ONE anchor: assemble a team. The idea is to get everyone back to their loved ones. Get Annie, Amy, and Nat. They're the smart moms. They work well together. They'd be a super team. AND they can cook healthy stuff. We'd eat okay until help arrives!
