Happy Embrace-Your-Geekness Day!

Posted: Monday, July 13, 2009 3:58 PM by Adam Miller

Can you still recite every line to that song you sang in your third grade concert? Do you color-code your pen collection? Well, you know what, you pen-organizers of the world...that's OK -- especially today, Embrace-Your-Geekness Day!

Don't be afraid to confess to your inner-Geekneess! I'll start: I may or may not have to read magazines from front cover to the last page. Can't go out of order!

Producer Lindsay Grubb's husband color-codes his tie collection "like a rainbow, from start to finish."

TODAY correspondent Sara Haines is OBSESSED with the card game Solitaire. She has been forced to set her iPhone down in the hair & make-up room, because it's such a distraction.

So go ahead and share your stories below...and have a geek-tastic day!

I'm geek obsessed with:
Farm Town on Facebook, where you can plant virtual fields of sunflowers, sell crop, and buy fences. All for fake money. I have goals to see how much I can earn.

I consider my iPhone to be a magic wand and feel lifeless without it.

I still have first generations iPhone, iPod, and early macbooks, and am not giving them up, and it's hard for me to upgrade if they aren't broken. Only RAM will get me to upgrade. However, that new speed and layout of software does inspire new things...

I have glittered my physical inbox/folder. Not sure if that's geek or just need to look at happy things.

I look forward to the answers!
Egg whites are cut into five pieces, yolks cut into quarters.  Meaty part of bacon eaten first, fatty parts saved for "dessert".  Have reminded my husband several times to memorize this system as if I ever become incapacitated he is to fix my breakfast exactly as I like it.  Even the chef where we eat breakfast knows the drill.  I've done the "read a magazine in order of the pages" rather than story by story.  It makes for some good mental gymnastics.  Always put the long knives underneath the flat grater in the drawer - protects the inattentive.
When I was in fifth grade, I was such a Star Trek fan that for my birthday my mother obtained the pattern for, purchased the material for, and completely assembled and sewed (on her ancient Singer machine) a Star Trek: The Next Generation uniform (security yellow - I idolized Data).

And I wore it to school.

Get geekier than that - I dare you.
