Al or Ann: Who is TODAY's Top Chef?

Every week, we have several different cooking segments on the show -- always nice to have something tasty to chow down on! I mean, hey, how could there ever be too many chefs in the kitchen?

But, who is TODAY's true culinary expert? Of course, Meredith has had her share of trouble in the kitchen while Al loves a good summer BBQ.  And did you know that Lester bakes a mean fruit cobbler?

In this week's "Getting to Know TODAY," we decided to create our very own TODAY "Top Chef" competition. We asked the TODAY family: If you were participating in a "Top Chef" cook-off, what would you make and which TODAY anchor would be your biggest competition?

Be sure to post your picks on who'd take home the "Top Chef" title below -- could Meredith surprise us? How would Lester size up against Jenna and Amy? And what would you make? Don't forget to add your ideas for future "Getting to Know TODAY" questions as well. Hopefully we'll pick yours.

As always, check the allDAY blog every Tuesday to learn the latest answers to all your burning questions about the TODAY family!

In the meantime, have a great week and enjoy some delicious food!

Got to go with Mr BBQ, Al Roker, love to BBQ myself I believe we have similar taste, except for those baked beets.

Matt instead of cooking up a mean steak try cooking a happy steak.

My Comments,

Ms California did the right thing despite the question posed by PereZ Hilton. Perez Hilton chose to make a political grandstand moment instead of performing his role as a judge in a beauty pagent! It is a proud moment in this country when a beautiful and smart young woman is strong enough to stand firm on her convictions and not stoop down to a judge who does not represent America!  Perez Hilton does not represent All Americans and should he ever again be chosen to judge anything leave his political views at the door!  I salute Ms California as she proudly represented those who still have traditional values!
matt, i do like your invertview with miss america, do you really think all of this is real.she is to reprsent america not all just her views does she realize that .Its abotu miss america not miss me !!!
Kathie Lee & Hoda I was so happy to hear you mention the Reach Out to Read program today. I volunteer at Children's Hospital and work in that program and it truly is a wonderful thing.
I`ll go with Al. I feel he should be congratulated on his great restraint cause I`m sure he can judge just by smelling, like wine connaiseur he does`nt have to imbibe. My GREEN thought - If fast food outlets offered 1 penny to the environment instead of a paper bag to put your burger in then throw away 3 minutes later. They would look like heroes while leading the way. They would also get a tax deduction to charity.
Nothing like a snappy little song by Md`s et all to ge the masses moving. The journey of a papper bag starts with trees, transport, mulch, bleach, dye, design, printing transport again, stored, thrown away handled again transpoorted to dump burned or buried for a few life times.  (They could donate 2 cents for those savings)
Compounded around the world think of the tons of reduction of greenhose gasses for a paper bag. How`s that for a GREEN SHOWDOWN. Food for thought PLEASE
I don't know who is the better cook yet, because neither one has cooked for me yet; But you can come up my house and cook for me anytime. Then i will let you know--my door is always open.
I too would have guessed Al Roker.  He seems genuinely interested in the food segments.  Everyone else tries hard and Lester would be my second choice.  Keep trying ladies; you can all do it!!!  These questions are so much fun; I look forward to getting to know the TODAY celebs each week!
I would choose Lester. I believe he's been on "Top Chefs" and he has alot of friends who are chefs. I would think that he's learned a thing or two. Plus, he just seems to be a natural born chef and would enjoy feeding others.Very maternal feeling from him.
Yes, indeedy.

I have a frozen dessert company here in CA. that can make Al or Matt win the Top Chef Contest.  My frozen, all natural, Gluten Free, Belgium Chocolate Souffles are made to convert an amateur pastry chef into a gourmet pastry chef within 20 minutes!  This 5 star restuarant Souffle comes already mixed, batter in a bakeable oven proof, plastic ramekin that goes from freezer to oven, to plate within 20 minutes.  YOUR guests wont believe it was not homemade.  Also, check out our amazing Brioche Bread Pudding. The most unusual frozen, all natural, 5 star restaurant dessert in the grocers freezer.  I am a woman entrepreneur in my 3rd year of business, and would love the opportunity to show the team at the Today Show.  I love them all. I was also on QVC twice last year, but need my big break!!!  The souffles are Gluten Free, but not the bread pudding. Please let me know where I can send samples.
