KLG takes on Efron
Hottie Zac Efron was in the studio, and the TODAY crew got all hot and feisty! There were confrontations, accusations, bickering hosts, finger-wagging and a sweatsuit-clad Kathie Lee in curlers! All while you were eating breakfast.
It started innocently enough, with the “High School Musical” tween-god talking about his latest flick “17 Again,” when the discussion veered towards his “SNL” sketch this weekend, in which he poked fun at KLG’s son Cody. It was all fun and laughs, until Kathie Lee marched onto the set to icily introduce herself and set the Gifford family record straight.
Photo in hand, Kathie Lee explained “[Cody] is way younger than you, way taller than you and way better looking! Thank you very much!”

KLG pretended to storm off, but not before Zac pleaded for her return. She made it clear it was all in good fun, but couldn’t resist a final jab at the moppy-haired star. “You need to do the hair thing differently – I’d never let [Cody] out of the house like that,” said the woman in curlers.
But who had the last word? Our very own Matt Lauer. As KLG casually rested on him during her interrogation, he exclaimed “Can you do me one favor? Can you take your hand off that shoulder, please?” She had chosen the shoulder that was injured during his recent deer encounter.
