The softer side of Matt

Who could finally make Matt Lauer drop hard-hitting interviews in favor of cute baby segments? Only TV's most dysfunctional media honcho, Jack Donaghy.

In last night's episode of "30 Rock," TODAY's anchor made a cameo – as himself, as Alec Baldwin's character goes to desperate measures to woo over the family of his Puerto Rican girlfriend, played by Salma Hayek. In response to her grandmother's request that NBC News is "too sad," poor Lauer – who just dealt (in real life) with donning a Snuggie on Wednesday  was forced to showcase Latino toddlers to the sweet sound of Tito Puente. (Hey Jim Bell, my Bubbe loves beagle puppies... and Streisand make it happen!)
