We know Matt has admirers all over the world, and that the likes of Ryan Seacrest can't resist his charm. But we had no idea Matt could make even the youngest of hearts flutter. Case in point: Seven-month-old Madeline Spohr , who seems to have a crush on the TODAY host. "In the mornings she’s fussy, but the second she’d hear Matt Lauer’s voice, she would stop whining and turn her whole body toward the sound of Matt joking with Meredith," her mother, Heather, wrote on the family's blog, "The Spohrs Are Multiplying." "We’ve even recorded The Today Show on our DVR so we can play it when she’s especially wound up. It works every time." We’re glad we don't have to break the news to Madeline that Matt is already taken.

Meredith is going prime time! The TODAY host has a cameo on "30 Rock" and the cast and crew of the show came by a couple of weeks ago to shoot the scene.
In it, Meredith plays herself, interviewing Tracy Morgan's not-so-bright character, Tracy Jordan.
"A lot of people are calling you a fear-monger, and I'm quoting here, 'an idiot,'" she says in the clip.
Meredith said she had a great time filming the shot, as did Matt when he appeared on "30 Rock" recently.
"I see Emmy!" Ann Curry laughed.
Will she be on next?

It's not yet spring and yes, Michelle Obama has gone sleeveless (again), this time in the House chamber during President Obama's first address to Congress. Shock and awe! We all remember the buzz about her Narciso Rodriguez dress on election night ... well, the cardigan has come off. Her husband's whole campaign was about change, and with a new president comes, of course, a new first lady. Whether or not you agree with her right to bare arms, can you say she looked inappropriate? Uncomfortable? Vulgar? She didn't need any flashy baubles or shocking color to stand out; her rich deep purple looked regal. Michelle looked fresh and age appropriate. She came across chic, sleek, modern, poised, confident and vibrant. After all, if we've been able to get past wearing white after Labor Day, maybe it's time to embrace exposed arms (even in Washington)? CONTINUED >>

American Cancer Society honored Ann Curry this afternoon by presenting her with their “Mother of the Year” award at a luncheon emceed by Kathie Lee Gifford. The only problem? Ann was flying back from Africa and missed the event...just barely! She was making her way through customs as the award was being presented. Meredith Vieira accepted the award on Ann’s behalf.
Congrats, Ann!
The spirit of Joe Ades , the beloved Park Avenue potato peeler who died earlier this month, lives on. The New York Post reports that his daughter, Ruth Ades-Laurent, has taken over his spot at the Union Square Greenmarket, selling the $5 vegetable peelers that made her father famous.
Ades-Laurent expects to be hawking peelers every Saturday, in memory of her dad.
"He'd say, 'You better be careful. If I go, these are your inheritance,'" Ades-Laurent told the Post.
Welcome to KLGandHoda.com ! Our new site celebrates the fun Kathie Lee and Hoda bring to the set every day, and will be a place for you to get in on the action.
So, in that spirit … what do you think? Love it? Hate it? Post your comments below.
Meredith thought she was pranking Matt when she appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, but it turns out the joke was on Meredith.
Check it out ...
Is there something in the Los Angeles water? Al and Meredith both got a little rowdy today.
Al nearly had a fashion accident this morning when a vase next to him was knocked down, splashing water on the floor and almost hitting him. But what left Meredith and Matt laughing was Al's reaction to the spill – he bounced up and down in his chair while wildly flailing his arms and legs.
"You reacted as if that vase was filled with nitroglycerin!" Matt said.
Meredith continued to giggle as she told Al he looked like one of the "Three Stooges."
Meredith really got into the spirit of the Wild West when she visited "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." The TODAY host tossed her heels and chased Ellen around her set, looking as if she was searching for a blunt object to throw. What could have caused Meredith turn on the beloved Ellen?
"I have two words for you," Meredith said. "'Matt Lauer' – that's all I'm gonna say."
When Brian Williams filled in for Meredith Vieira this morning, Al Roker suggested a new theme song for the dynamic duo of Williams and Lauer..."It's Raining Men." Added Roker: "It's a Whitman's sampler of man candy right there."
Here are some laughs and lighter moments with Brian from this morning's show:
Today CNBC's Rick Santelli had some strong words about President Obama's new housing plan. Santelli suggested creating a Web site to let Americans vote on the plan and here was his idea:
"...to have people vote on the internet as a referendum to see if we really want to subsidize the loser's mortgages or would we like to at least buy cars and buy houses in foreclosure and give them to people that might have a chance to actually prosper down the road and reward people that can carry the water instead of drink the water…"
Broadcasting from a trading floor in Chicago , most traders around Santelli cheered.

When it comes to news and politics, TODAY’s hosts do their best to remain scrupulously impartial and give a fair hearing to all sides of an issue. Movies, however, are another matter entirely – at least this year. Ever since the young stars of “Slumdog Millionaire,” Dev Patel and Freida Pinto, first came on the show last November to talk about their film and bust some Bollywood dance moves for an appreciative Meredith Vieira, TODAY has had an undeniable soft spot in its heart for what Meredith calls “our little movie that could.” And that affection has only grown over ensuing weeks – such as when Patel and Pinto joined director Danny Boyle to share their jubilation over the film’s Golden Globe nominations with TODAY last December, and again to celebrate its four wins in January. Or when Anil Kapoor, the suave Bollywood superstar who plays the host of the Indian version of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” in the film, unleashed his charm on Hoda Kotb earlier this month, dancing with her while Kathie Lee Gifford looked on in envy. Guess who made the TIME’s “Pop Chart” this week? TODAY’s very own Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb … and their “10 a.m. happy hour.” In honor of the shout out, this morning the two celebrated and raised a glass of wine – a full bottle’s worth . Cheers, Kathie Lee and Hoda!
Ann Curry is traveling with actor and human rights advocate George Clooney in Africa, where she is reporting on the Chad/Darfur border region.
In many parts of the world, walking around with such a high-profile heartthrob as George Clooney would cause quite a hubbub. But in this border region, swooning reactions were nowhere to be found. “Darfurian children in Chad's refugee camps don't know George Clooney is a movie star,” Ann Curry wrote today in a Twitter post . “But they like him for treating them like stars.” Clooney was named a U.N. messenger of peace in January 2008 . “I am very proud to be here as a messenger of peace, and the message is: That the world is watching, and that at this point we cannot afford to fail,” he said at the time. “There’s a lot more responsibility with this one than with an Oscar, which all you really have to do is, you know, drink after the party.”
Tune into TODAY on Friday Feb. 20 to catch Ann’s interview with Clooney. Click here to see more of Ann's photography from Darfur, including a school at the refuge camp named "Obama."

CHAD/DARFUR BORDER -- We traveled to the Chad/Darfur border with New York Times columnist Nick Kristof and actor/activist George Clooney , two men you might not guess have much in common, but both are smart and funny -- and care deeply about Darfur.
Today in a refugee camp on the Chad side, we found in one refugee camp, a school house named for the President Obama.

The students told us Obama made them believe anything was possible, that they could rise from the sands of this desert, where they don't even have shoes, and become anyone they wanted, maybe even a president. That these children, who are among humankind's most suffering living in one of the world's most hopeless places, could imagine such greatness... now that is the audacity of hope.

From Natalie Morales It's official -- I've caught Olympic fever!
After spending just a few days in the 2010 host city of Vancouver, I can hardly wait for the Games to officially open, exactly one year from today. The venues are beautiful! The food is delicious! The nightlife is rich and exciting! But there's something else that snowboarder Seth Wescott pointed out to me -- Vancouver is almost like having an Olympics in your backyard. After all, it’s less than a three-hour drive from Seattle.
I met up with Seth and fellow snowboarders Lindsey Jacobellis and Graham Watanabe on the slopes, where they are prepping for the World Cup this weekend. Having covered several Winter Games in the past, I've had a few five-minute lessons from the pros. So I was thrilled to have actually remembered a thing or two while riding with Lindsey, Graham and Seth. I was making a few turns, picking up speed, looking almost cool...and then I ran straight into a sign in the middle of the hill. Ouch!
I'm happy to report I sustained no further injuries while skating at the rink in the Richmond Oval, the crown jewel of Vancouver's venues. It's amazing that the Oval, like almost all of the venues, is already complete. The Canadian people are so thrilled to be hosting the Games, and I think you will all be please to see how the city has taken every effort to ensure the 2010 Olympics will be an extraordinary experience.

Who could finally make Matt Lauer drop hard-hitting interviews in favor of cute baby segments? Only TV's most dysfunctional media honcho, Jack Donaghy.
In last night's episode of "30 Rock," TODAY's anchor made a cameo – as himself, as Alec Baldwin's character goes to desperate measures to woo over the family of his Puerto Rican girlfriend, played by Salma Hayek. In response to her grandmother's request that NBC News is "too sad," poor Lauer – who just dealt (in real life) with donning a Snuggie on Wednesday – was forced to showcase Latino toddlers to the sweet sound of Tito Puente. In an exclusive interview, Ann Curry will sit down with Nadya Suleman in her first interview since giving birth to octuplets last week. The exclusive interview will air on "Today," and "Dateline" in the coming days.
From Mike Celizic, TODAYshow.com He said he “wouldn’t be caught dead in a Snuggie.” Yet a frigid Wednesday morning in New York found Matt Lauer sitting on the couch wrapped in the latest sensation that’s sweeping America.
“I’m having chest pains as we speak,” the TODAY co-host joked after watching the clip of himself declaring his intention never to get wrapped up in a blanket with sleeves.

Anil Kapoor, the actor who plays smarmy game show host Prem Kumar in the Oscar-nominated film "Slumdog Millionaire," seems like an overnight success to most Americans.
But for the billion-plus people living in India and millions of others in the Indian diaspora, Kapoor has been a household name for nearly three decades as a Bollywood hero. He's had several hits and a few misses, but for many, he's remained India's answer to Tom Cruise. My mother recalled seeing his first film, "Humare Tumhare" in 1979, the year she left India. "I was 23 years old … and I remember everybody thought Anil was very handsome and cute," she said. "He had chubby cheeks back then and so we all used to call him 'Amul Kapoor.'" (Amul is an Indian food company.)
Kapoor, who has starred in more than 100 films, shot to stardom after his 1987 film, "Mr. India," a science fiction superhero movie that still has a cult following.

A story begins with a lump in the throat. Something you feel compelled to tell. That’s where the news of Joe Ades’ passing has struck me – in my throat. You may remember the 75-year-old salesman best known for getting himself to Park Avenue selling $5 potato peelers while wearing a thousand-dollar suit. He died on Sunday .A lot of older people standing in the shadows have terrific stories. I've made an effort -- all of my career -- to look behind the media mirror that reflects the powerful and find tales of people who are practically invisible. I like to stick stories to a list of long overlooked names. Joe Ades. Remember him.
Meredith Vieira had a whale of a time in Tampa for the Super Bowl and the myriad festivities associated with it, but once again, her choppers became part of the story.
The TODAY co-host told Al Roker Monday she suffered a post-party mishap trying to use her teeth as a pair of scissors. “I actually chipped my front tooth – I was tearing off a wrist band from one of those parties I went to last night,” Vieira said, quickly adding, "I was totally sober, nothing like that.” Meredith got to play dress-up as a pirate during the Super Bowl – the game was played at the home stadium of the NFL Tampa Bay Bucaneers – but with her chipped tooth, she could have played the part of a gnarly swashbuckler even without the fake gold teeth she sported. Vieira told Roker she plans to get her tooth fixed when she returns from Tampa – and no doubt she’s on a first-name basis with her dentist . Her Super Bowl mishap marks at least the eighth time she’s cracked a tooth. She famously cracked her two front teeth in 2007 shortly after she slammed the back of her head during an ice-skating segment with Will Ferrell on TODAY. Many believed her noggin-rattling was the cause of her dental fracture, although Meredith has said her dentist believes her habit of teeth-grinding during sleep is the root of her problems.
While Matt Lauer moaned during an appearance on "The Martha Stewart Show" Friday that he wasn’t getting a cut of the $3 million per 30-second cost of Super Bowl ads on NBC, the TODAY co-host at least got in on the action. He starred alongside funnyman Will Ferrell in a spot for the actor's upcoming adventure film "Land of the Lost."
In the ad that ran during the Super Bowl, Lauer interviews Ferrell’s character Dr. Rick Marshall on the TODAY set about a $50 million project Marshall spearheaded to warp time. Later, when Marshall learns his project actually works – he gets chased by dinosaurs – an assistant asks him, “Do you know what this means?” He replies, “Yeah, Matt Lauer can eat it!”
"Land of the Lost," a remake of the cult favorite 1970s TV series, opens in June. In case you missed it...
