A special summer camp

Imagine being told by your peers that you are crazy because you’ve fallen on the ground and gone into an uncontrollable epileptic seizure that you don’t remember.

Confusion, embarrassment, shame, self-consciousness, and isolation are just a few of the feelings that kids with epilepsy experience on a daily basis.

Thank goodness there are people in the world like Sandy Weinstein, and her all- volunteer staff of counselors, doctors and nurses. They know that all kids need a place where they can feel “normal”.

i just wanted to say this is a great thing the founder of this camp is doing. i grew up with seizures and i know what these kids are going through. i never knew any other kids with epilepsy and felt as if no one really underdstood me and my seizures. i had brain surgery and no long have epilepsy, but i dropped out of school b/c of kids making fun of me and talking about me when i would have a seizure. i could never thank the doctors enough for what they did for me, but some aren't as fortunate as i was. thank you
My name is Jennifer Adamson i have epilepsy my whole life. In1995 i had a brain operation now dont have them but still take Meds for them because i could have shakes onice a mouth. I am thirtyseven now and married. i belive you can do anything and i would like to be a camp volenteer.    Jennifer l. Adamson
Mr. Barber, THANK YOU for visiting and shining a spotlight on Camp Great Rock!  My son, has attended for four years and has loved every minute of it!  The Staff of CNMC is absolutely amazing and their dedication to our kids goes beyond words.  Hopefully, your story will create more awareness and help the CNMC family create new facility where even more children can have the experience of a lifetime!  Again, thank you for taking the time to visit and share a piece of Camp Great Rock with everyone.
