If you're an avid watcher of TODAY, you know about Matt's almost pathological quest to exist in an orderly and a germ-free environment.

Over the weekend, you may have seen this article in USA Weekend detailing Matt's quest for cleanliness and order in his own home.

If you missed it (or don't subscribe to a local newspaper on Sunday), check it out.

My kids call me a clean freak. Love to know guys can be too.....
Now I can say, "See, there is nothing wrong to want things clean- Matt does it too" Of course my family laughs at me because I really like things clean. Now, I have a celebrity to back me up! HA!
I want the dust buster on the cover being held by Matt Lauer. Who makes it and where can I buy it?
My husband puts all shirts in the closet buttoned up.  My mother in law taught my husband not to put any close in the hamper inside out or they wont get washed.
I think the dust buster is a Dyson.  I saw it in a Bridal magazine Target ad this weekend
Dear Matt:

I was just reading your article in USA Weekend regarding your "obsession" with keeping things orderly. I share your "obsession" and wanted to mention that I teach something similar, called "5S" to companies which is part of an entire program called "Lean Enterprise".

5S stands for "Sort out, Set in order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain" and is a form of Workplace Organization. While reading your article, I was thinking (and have always thought) that this applies to the home in addition to the workplace.

If interested, I would be happy to come on your show to discuss how it can be translated from the Workplace to the Homeplace!
I'm with you Matt.  I wish more men were like you.
I'm with Matt. Love for everything to be in it's place, and having a place for everything. My wife doesn't understand why I want to spend money for cabinets and storage closets for everything in the garage. To me the garage should be just as organized as her kitchen. What can I say, "it's just the way I am", Right Matt?
thats the dust buster i wish we had at work. what an awesome gadget.
Matt,my husband is just like you! He loves to vacuum and cleans, cleans, cleans!! That's one of the reasons  married him!
Hey Matt - it is very important to be clean.  I walk in the door day in and day out and the first thing I do is wash my hands.  Tips:  Never use the sign-in pen at the doctor's office (look at all the other people that signed in before you) and wash most of the milk cartons and other containers from the grocery store.
One last tip - hand wipes in the car are very essential to every day living.
Good clean fun.
Matt, it scares me to have any person be a "neat freak"  really its a disorder you need to address.  Play with your children, let them explore, Read "Last Child in the Woods." and stop obsessing about orderliness, it's weird and unhealthy,(I work with anal elementary teachers!!) So! Listen to music, eat good food and LIVE!

P.S. We've been married for 28 years, 2 wonderful messy kids, also happy...
Hey Matt! I think that's great. My husband and son are the same way. I like a clean house, but orderly can sometimes be a problem.
Matt - In my opinion, you are not obsessive. You, quite simply, "normal". It is abnormal to live like a barnyard animal.
It would be so nice to have a husband who cleans!
Matt, after living in our house for 24 years, and repeatedly "excavating" my husband's small outside storage room, I am finally getting my wish for additional outside storage. Since we are zoned against "outbuildings" in our neighborhood, we are having a 16x8 addition built onto the end of our carport.  I will finally be able to get all the junk out of my carport and possibly even manage to open the door of the present storage room without endangering my life and limb.  The new room will have a 20-ft. floor-to-ceiling wall of shelves and an 8ft. wall of pegboard.  I would welcome you to come to the Deep South and toss, consolidate, organize, and rearrange to your heart's content -- you can truly "knock yourself out" on this long-overdue project.
Matt I would love order in my closet and office. You can come throw things out and organize my house anytime you want!
Matt, Matt, Matt. I knew I loved you for some reason! It is so nice to know I'm not the only one who gets excited when I get to clean out my closet and drawers. I drive my family nuts when I do this. I'll take a page out of your book and maybe they will go on a trip so I can continue my therapy without my husband and kids being upset with me.
Matt can clean out my closets any time he likes!
Hey Matt, I would pick up your socks, (or whatever you may leave around the house) if you couldn't. I watch u every morning and I'm in a dream when I see your face. See, the love of my life is your twin. I can't have him, but I can see you everyday and I'm in heaven...
hi matt im a clean person but at one time i was fanatic about cleaning to a point my only son was ready to leave the house because i was impossible to live with. thank god i stop im still quıte cleane but if i dont clean today tomorow i will get to it  but if i dont no problem . we can drive ourselfes crazy . laurentina duarte , turkey
I try to be neat and organized and I fall short; however, reading about people like Matt Lauer inspires me to do better and I will continue the good fight  :)  Thanks so much!
