Carol Burnett's Tarzan Yell

Among the many things Carol Burnett is known for is her "Tarzan yell" (basically like yodeling), which was one of her trademarks on "The Carol Burnett Show."

This morning, she taught Meredith -- and our audience on the plaza -- and later, Martha Stewart, how to do the Tarzan yell. WATCH VIDEO

Burnett learned the yell as a child, mimicking the calls she heard in the Tarzan and Jane movies.

Hopefully, this movie will introduce to the youngest generation one of the greatest comics of all time...
I know that the Tarzan yell is Carol Burnett's signature yell, but I do wonder if she ever gets tired of recreating it.  It is very rare today to find her type of comedy on TV today.  I miss it.  Thanks to Carol and her friends for bringing much laughter into my life.
I love and have always loved Carol Burnett.
I listened to a tape she did on her early life and she is an awesome individual and a great entertainer.
Carol Burnett is a one-of-a-kind comedian.  She should be honored for more than her Tarzan yell.  She can make anyone laugh at life.
I've loved Carol Burnett for a long time. Her comedy is truly good, fresh, clean fun--very unique style. Wish there were more like her.
Carol would do her tarzan call from my brother's tree house in Winter Haven FL in 1962 while she was there
doing the Gary Moore show. I wasn't born yet, but the pictures are priceless!!!

Thank you for honoring my hero, she is truely the epitome of a living legend. A class act that is rare these days.
