On Today's Menu: Scorpions and Cockroaches?

Here's a cooking segment for you. Andrew Zimmern, the host of "Bizarre Foods" on the Travel Channel, was on the show this morning to give Meredith, David, Al and Natalie a chance to sample some bizarre foods.

On the menu: scorpion, lutefisk, lamb's head (left), civet coffee, lamprey, snake and giant water bugs/Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches.

What are the odds that the foods featured in this segment would be the same ones I had for dinner last night? Quite a coincidence.

In any case, when Andrew cut into one of these items, everyone in the control room collectively let out an audible groan (myself included). Can you guess which item it was? Check out the video (if you dare). WATCH VIDEO

Just a note to set you straight about Lutfisk. If it is prepared properly it is NOT like jello but rather firm and flakey. If it is like jello it has been ruined. I'm a lutfisk lover and can't get enough of the stuff.
Eating the heads of animals is popular in mediteranean countries as well.  Italians eat what is called cabutsele.
Bruce is so right about the lutefisk....it is one of our Christmas Holiday traditions and it is wonderful!  We eat it in a white sauce over new potatoes!!
TO BE HONEST. LAMBS HEAD IS VERY GOOD IF
COOKED RIGHT.
our church feeds lutefisk to approximately 400 the first sunday of december each year- how can I get a copy of this segment to share with our members - not every day we are compared to cockroaches and lamb's head - I invite you to our feed this december - I will buy your ticket
Snake (depending on what kind) and especially almprey, no rpoblem. The rest you can keepitty-keep-keep-keep.
I was once bit(stung)by a scorpion, it would be nice to bite back for a change.
