Giada's baby shower

With just a little over a month to go before her due date, Caryln Chinn and TODAY threw a baby shower for our own Giada De Laurentiis.  Producer Jennie Thompson shares her photos of the event...

Hi,
I think that Giada should name her baby "Summer Jade Thompson" since she and her husband both like the name Jade, but are not quite sure yet. I know that Giada loves the warm weather,blue water, etc. I am a number one Giada fan!! I also sent this email from my home. So you may see this email twice. I think Summer Jade would be beautiful!

Let me say I really like Giada BUT enough with the baby coverage! When I see Giada is on the show I know it will be ANOTHER baby segment.I would like the producers to expand her segments to other things.I love babies and have had a couple myself and I am really hsppy for Giada and her family but enough,please.

Thank you so much for making me feel like a part of the Today Show family by sharing these pictures.  Good luck with your new baby.  You look beautiful.  Just a little tip.  Don't shake your baby when you rock her.  Just hold her real close and let her move back and forth with your body.  She will feel more secure and will go to sleep.

I pray you have a healthy, happy little girl.  I'm sure she will be beautiful.  How about combining your names and calling her Tonia (like Tonya) but with an i like Giada or Tia.  Sorta Italian but not bad with Thompson either.

Congratulations Giada!! Girls are a blessing (I have 3!) I wrote a note to you in the "Why I Love Today show" section of this website. (You must think I'm nuts but I couldn't find any other way to send you a message) My father knew your great grandfather and grandfather in San Giovanni many moons ago and I just discovered it.  It's a cute story! I hope someone somewhere gets it to you. Anyway, I thought you might be checking this page to see the comments and maybe you'll read this.  Congrats!!!!!!

Recent show depicted a search for a name suitable for
Giada's baby girl.  We have a daughter her daddy  (me)  named:  "Giavanna"  which translates to JoAnne.
We thought Giada might like the suggestion.

Hi, I don't think that Valentina Thompson sounds like a bad name.  :-)  But,I have to admit that I love the name Isabella.  Isabella Thompson would be a fantastic name.  The first name gives a dash of Italian while her last name shows her American side.  Plus, Giada's little girl is going to grow up some day and get married and have a new last name most likely anyways.  No matter what name she has she'll always love the both of them.  :-)

Congratulations Giada!!! I am such a fan of all your cooking shows, and can't understand how I wasn't aware of you expecting...I feel like I have missed so much, not knowing. I am not a regular of the today show and as a result it surprised me to know that you are most likely a regular of the show. I happened to tune in today to watch the bartenders do their stuff because chris happenes to be an asst. coach in hockey with my son. I am so happy because now I will watch the show everyday...Just like everyday Italian. I make most of the dishes you make on the show and I have to say my family loves them all.I, like you, am italian and love, love love to cook. In my eyes you are the best on the food network...I adore you and think you are so beautiful and so sweet. I am also waiting for a new baby in my life, but it's a Grandchild...I can't wait....I wish you and Todd the best of everything and your little can't miss being beautiful.
