There's a writers' strike?
I have been renting a lot of movies that I missed in years past or forgot that I wanted to watch but never got around to it. I do still watch reruns of the shows I love, and would REALLY, REALLY like for new episodes to start soon.
I understand why the writers are striking; like everyone, they want to be fairly compensated for their work.  I understand the future of the media lies in streaming video and the internet, and compensation for these media types is not paid to the writers. HOWEVER, the people in the trenches are paying heavily for this.  The industry has come to a halt because the writers want it all, and they want it now. How childish is that?  Evidently, the dictionary that the writers use do not contain the words "negotiate" or "compromise".  Perhaps if both sites agreed to a phased-in contract that gave the writers some interest in streaming video it would be a start.  Compromise now, and work toward a better contract next time.  Remember, all journeys start with one small step; and the people who watch what you write are getting sick and tired of this.
