Al Roker on UFOs, Extra-Terrestrials

Posted: Wednesday, January 16, 2008 10:04 AM by Dan Fleschner
Filed Under:

Something happened in Stephenville, Texas, last week. Something...extra-terrestrial? Well, maybe. NBC News correspondent Don Teague looked into this story to find out whether people, as some of them claimed, saw a UFO. WATCH VIDEO

As he mentioned on the air, our own Al Roker is a firm believer that something is out there. He's never seen a UFO, as you'll read below, but he's sure there's something out there. Do you agree? Have you ever seen a UFO? Send us your comments below.

In the meantime, you can read my conversation with Al after the jump:

DF: So what's the basis for your belief that there is extra-terrestrial life out there?

Al: I just don't believe that we're the only ones. Why not? Why shouldn't there be? If we're out there looking for something, why shouldn't there be something out there looking for us? Not necessarily looking for us, per se, but looking for something like us. They're out there. I firmly believe that.

DF: I would bet that a majority of Americans would agree with that. Or at least want to believe that there's something out there.

Al: I'm not equating this with religion, but in a certain sense, it's a leap of faith. You can't see it, but you believe it.

DF: Have you ever seen a UFO?

Al: I have not.

DF: Would you like to?

Al: I would like to, yes. Perhaps from a little bit of a distance. You're never quite sure, what kind of a UFO it is. Is it the kind of UFO where, like in that movie coming out -- Cloverfield -- is it the type of UFO where things start exploding? If it's that kind of UFO, I don't want to see it.

Is it more like Ray Walston in "My Favorite Martian"? That I like.

DF: A nice alien.

Al: The idea that the alien is living over my garage. That kind of guy.

DF: A "Mork and Mindy" type.

Al: A "nanu nanu" kind of guy or woman. Or a "Third Rock from the Sun" thing. A befuddled guy and a hot babe.

DF: Can you foresee a situation, like in Close Encounters of the Third Kind, where you would be interested in joining this race of aliens?

Al: Yes, but I would like an end date.

DF: You'd just want to visit.

Al: Yeah, you know, if I go, who will make the house payments? I won't know what will have happened with "Lost" or on "Heroes." If they can tell me that I'll be back in "x" amount of time, then I'd prefer that.

DF: We always assume that these other beings will be more technologically advanced than us--

Al: Well, if they show up in a '73 Duster or worse, a '76 AMC Pacer, then you don't really want to go with these guys. Even though they did get here, if they're in a Pacer, you don't want to go.

I saw one on November of 2005 above Tinley Park, IL , my husband and daughter woke me up to show me the three red lights that formed a triangle, hovering above then move quickly across the sky towards the northeast, then they just hovered for about 20 minutes..I tried to take a picture, but the image would not show on my phone...If my daughter didn't wake me up to see for my self I would never have believed in U.F.O.'s
Well, with the rapid proliferation of camera phones, we should soon start seeing a lot of interesting photos when these situations occur. If not, you have to start wondering why not ?

I believe that there is little chance that there is not a great deal of other intelligent life sprinkled about the universe. Whether they can travel at the speed of light (or faster), I'm not sure. I would sure love to see one just because of the many ramifications that it would have.
This is all so interesting to me.  Since I was a kid in the 1950's, I always believed that we were not the only ones in the universe.  If one believes that there is a God of some sort, why would we be the only experiment with life ???

Then in the early 1960's, three people from the farm company I worked for saw two objects in one of our fields one spring evening.  One came down very slowly and hovered for about five minutes, while the other appeared to be standing by, or as a guard.  They then both hovered for a few seconds together, and were gone as a streak across the sky.  This was all observed from less than a quarter of a mile distance.  What was interesting was that all three of the observers had very different views on God, life  and the universe.  But they all claimed to have seen something.

The next day, They investigated the area where they saw the objects.  There was a strange viscous "liquid" on the plants and a slight discoloration on the dirt in a circle about thirty feet in diameter.  The owner was very intereested, so collected specimens and took them to a friend in the chemistry department at the local college.  The chemist came back saying he couldn't figure out what the substance was, and "where did they get the stuff ??"

The next move was to take some of the samples to the local Air Force Station.  We never heard back from these people, even after repeated requests to the individual who took the samples.  That was when we all decided that this must have been a very real happening.

The owner had been so excited about this "event," that he told us that if they came back and found him on a tractor in the field, he would leave us a note as to where he had gone, if they would take him...

I remember seeing the substance on the ground and on the plants.  I wish I had been there to have seen the whole incident...

Who knows.  But I still believe we are not the only beings in this huge Universe of ours !!!

I too believe in ufo I have seen the bright lights many times so have my family, I believe in everything Erich Van Daniken writes, He is on the right track, read his books. you wiil be surprised.

I am 57 years old.  I've seen UFOs on three different occasions: the first on a starry night when I was about 12 years old on vacation in Harrisville, MI; the second on a cold winter night in the early '90s in Idaho Falls, ID; and, the third in the twilight hours of a nice early summer evening in Idaho Falls in 2001.  I call them UFOs because I can't identify what I saw, the things were definitely flying, and they appeared to me to be objects.  I can't explain any of them, but I know what I saw.
It is just Cloverfield hype.
In 1974 near Standish Michigan, my friends and I saw an unexplained object in the sky. We were heading back to school up North and were traveling north on I-75. I saw a green "star" dead ahead on the highway and commented that I didn't think that there were any green stars. We slowed the car to an absolute crawl (it being late at night and no one behind us, nor coming the other way on the other side of the highway), and this green "glow" floated over the car. I looked straight up at it and it appeared as a four panel window with the green glow within/behind it. Although a very dark night, one could sense that the "window" was surrounded by something of huge mass, it was a huge darkness against the already dark sky. It drifted over the car from the Northwest to the Southwest and off in the direction of Saginaw Bay. To this day it reminds me of, if you remember the old TV show "Voyage to the bottom of the sea", of the submarine Seaview, with that panel window that was at the front that the crew could look out. We all looked at each other and said that we wouldn't tell anyone, as no one would believe us. We did see something....
Yes, I have seen UFOs as have my neighbors, in our area near Brunswick, GA.  Our local newspaper reported came to my home, one evening to do a story on what we were seeing nightly.  He too and his wife saw the UFOs, all of which was reported to MUFON on a daily basis, as events occured.  They came in several different shapes and colors.  They flew around my home, over my home and the homes of my neighbors.  Are they nothing more then an illusion or were they actual craft, I cannot tell.  We only know what we witnessed over a two week period.  This occured in November of 2003.
When I was 10 years old (1968)I was with a group of about 10 other kids in my front yard. Our home overlooked the Columbia River, and you could see about 20 mile south along the river. We saw an object with the shape of the planet Saturn zip back and forth along the river. It was grey in color and seemed to be lit up. This was on a clear night and we all watched it for about 15 minutes. The object seemed to be about 200 yards above the water. I sure would like to know if anyone else has seen anything similar.
I am a firm believer in UFO's I seen one right after my second child was born in SouthEast Missouri coming out of the Mississippi River by Kentucky and Arkansas in 1985.  If you ever see one as close as I did the vibration off of it was so intense that I could not move until it was out of my sight.  I hoverd over me what seemed like a long period of time but I don't believe it was that long. It had a orange light that went around the entire unit and very bright to the eyes.  There have been many of many sightings there before and after me.  I moved because it scared me too much for proctection for my children and I.  Nobody can take that away from me becuase I witness it and I pray to God I never have to see it again.  It felt like time was frozen at that moment.  I don't care what scientist say I know what I seen.  Let alone they can't even prove there is a God and we know there is.  Signed ONE WHO BELIEVES!
Many of you may not remember, but in the 40's, music was starting to evolve. One night I saw this strange object in the sky, and the next night I heard this band with a sound that was out of this world. They were called the Sticky Rix, and I beleive they were connected to the object.
I am 72 years old and have seen 2 UFO'S that definitely are not something that is produced in this
world. Knowing the limitations of air travel speeds as
well as radical movements we have the inability to duplicate with our aircraft, it leaves me with only one conclusion.  Something from another world outside our own has evidently been studying us.  The fact that not too many years ago breaking the sound barrier sounded far fetched, however, as we know it is commonplace today.  Why then should we not consider the breaking the light barrier (speed of
light) not feasable.  Relative to the age of our planet, perhaps our galaxy, we must consider that far
more advanced civilizations exist who have overcome
these barriers.
As a child, I saw/experienced/felt/etc. some type of craft that flew over at such a high rate of speed that it went horizon-to-horizon in les than a second. This experience has haunted me for over 40 years, wondering what really happened. Sometimes I think I had a stroke or some other physical ailment, yet, the intellectual side of me knows SOMETHING happened that day in a little town in south Texas.
I have seen 3 ufo's each time was with other people, and we all seen the same thing, I dont know what they were, but i do know that if man had that kind of tecnology,im sure we would have heard about it.Its a mystery for sure, but its no mystery on how little we really know about what goes on, around this planet we live on.
Extra-Terrestrial life is possible.  Just to put in perspective, if you spill a salt shaker on a table.  Each grain of salt could represent a galaxy in our Universe.  I'm sure it's probable that one of the galaxies in our universe could sustain life.  I wouldn't doubt if life has even come and gone in other parts of the universe.
Is life out there?  Sure, probably as close as our own solar system.  Intelligent life capable of intergalactic travel?  I'm not so sure.  Solely judging by the spelling and grammar in the current comments, there's not a lot of intelligent life on Earth. Why would anyone expect or hope it exists somewhere else?
I do believe in them. We just moved into this two family home on Staten Island.  It was summer, it was hot, we had the air conditioner in the living room, so me, my husband and two small children camped out on the floor, facing the slding doors, I was looking at the sky and the stars and this massive object came close to the house.  It was low, moved slow, lights encircled the bottom of it, it was massive. It was passing over the house and I woke my husband up to view it.  We ran to the back of the house, thinking we would see it, but it was gone.  No where else to go but UP I guess.  I'll never forget that experience as long as I live.
I like what someone else said here.. What if they simply live SO long, that the travel here for them is just a blink?  Great concept.  We assume (as usual) that we know what this other life form might be, might look like - right down to the fact that some would say it's impossible because it would simply take too long to get here.. but - if they lived for eons, maybe it's just trip to the beach?
I believe that God made this universe to discover, explore, and dream. Show me some prof & than I might just change my mind.
OF course Aliens exist.  Regardless of religion, to think we're the olny ones makes no sense.  If you believe God would only make us and no one else in the universe...you've got a real ego problem.  As for people who say Aliens could not reach us, well, do we know EVERYTHING about science and quantum physics?  Not really.  So whose to say aliens didn't figure out how to travel faster than light?  Either case denying the probable is just as bad as hiding behind religion.
Burt - Maybe they have a reason to not make contact?  How would we know what their motives are?  There are records of cave drawings of ufo-like craft thousands of years old.  Perhaps they have been monitoring us for some time.  Maybe they will come forward when the time is right for them and us both.
We study every single creature, plant, organism on earth as part of science.  If other beings came here, of course they would want to study us as well.  Maybe they are "conditioning" us to their presence through increasingly allowing them to be seen?
Considering there are trillions of stars in the universe, with billions of possible planets (we used to think there were no others outside our solar system, now we find them a rate of 2 a month just inside our own galaxy, which is one of billions of galaxies) and most are billions of years older than us.  Think that just 100 years ago we first learned how to fly. Now we already have been to the moon and have probes that have exited our solar system.  Now imagine a society which is even a thousand years older than ours.  Pretty easy to figure they could have learned to travel across the universe to study other planets.
By most scientific accounts of probability, the odds that they are NOT other civilizations out there are like a billion to one.
I watched a clip from a witness in Stephenville, the guy in the woods.  About ten years ago, in rural Delaware, I saw a similar object like the one this guy discribed.  Moving just above the tree lines, with lights, and no engine noise.  A few minutes another set of lights were coming in the same direction.  I was scared, cause you could not see much at night, but it turned out to be a prop plane, which was probably following the thing.  Later that night, I looked around in the sky and saw objects far enough away that they were not planes, but looked like they could have been stars, but they moved very fast across the sky, then stopped.  Neither stars or planes do what these lights did.  I didn't feel as crazy, when the next day, I find out that Dover Air Force Base had lots of calls about UFO's.  What I almost saw was not a blimp, but was more the size of a glider, but gliders don't fly at night, that slow at tree top level and not crash and the local news papers not report it.  The Stephenville incident just shows me that other people have seen stuff flying around at night they can't explain.
I am a US Military pilot.  I fly regularly at night.  I know what various sources of light look like below me (city lights), above me, and at my altitude (other aircraft) through experience.  I am convinced I saw a UFO above Northern Florida at my altitude (22,000ft.) I saw 4, stationary, semi-circular positioned yellow lights that were the size of tennis balls (as opposed to roughly the size of the tip of a ball point pen which would indicate another aircraft's position lights).  They stayed on for roughly 30 seconds, then extinguished one by one, left to right and came back on a minute later in reverse order.  I witnessed 3 times.  My first thought was that it was a helicopter because it was clearly not moving, but it couldn't have been because 1) It was much bigger than the large aircraft I fly, and 2) We were at 22,000ft.  MUCH higher than helicopters fly.  Next quick thought was weather, but it was a clear beautiful night, and it obviously not lightning or weather related....and again, it could not have been an aircraft because it was not moving.  The flight engineer sitting next to me saw the same thing I did.  I can't call it a spaceship or anything like that.  I can only say that unequivocally it was an Unidentified Flying Object, larger and unlike anything I ever have seen,  something I have absolutely no explanation for, and something myself and another individual witnessed for roughly 15 minutes, without question.
i believe in ufo's. the universe is to vast to reasonably think we are the only planet that can sustain life. our intelligence has not found that planet yet. i believe mankinds history of war and destruction has scared possible other beings from making contact.granted they may capable of the same, they may want to coexist or even assimilate peacefully.
I believe in UFO'S and one day we will all see them.  I have not personally seen them, but was involved in a very strange incident several years ago in the mountains outside Colorado along with eight of my friends.  To this day we all think we were abducted, dont have enough space here to explain.  Anyway, as humans we would be very arrogant to think that we were the only ones in the billions of universes that exist. I also think that before its over we will all know the truth.  More and more people are belivers than not. Its the government and others that keeps the truth from us.  Just think of the mass hysteria if people knew the truth.  Soooo for now until our mass consciousness has risen enough to except the mere thought of others out there, we will never know unless one lands in your yard and you video tape it without distortion or it lands on the whitehouse lawn.  Only then will we really know.  Al can cover the story! What a story that will be!! There's so much we don't even know about our past or the oceans here on earth.  People for the most part just want to live status quo.  Who built the pryamids in Egypt.  The Egyptians?  I think not! Great Dialog everybody!
Last night my neighbor and I were coming home from a sport event and we saw a bright light bouncing in the North sky. We drive to the end of the road and sat and watched it for about 10 minutes. It went up,down and sideways. It eventually went down out of site.
Do ‘UFO’s’ exisit? We don’t know, but if so, there are explicit instructions to all major govt’s not to reveal known intelligence. Humans are Classified as only a hIgher level functioning Animal. The potential to ‘self-adjust’ must come through ‘evolution of civilization’ or the ability to overcome or ‘rise above’ our feral nature. While we may have shown that we are able to ‘co-exist for mutual advantage’ or benefit, these examples are isolated cases on a whole. As a species, we have much to learn and overcome. Our core nature is not that far from our animal beginnings. While evil and good are but philosophical debates, until we learn, as a whole, to work for the common advantage, we are sheltered on this rock. I apologize that this may not be coherent enough, but those who understand may be the ones who have ‘potential’.
Everyone who definitively says there is now way any alien race could make it here because of how far they had to travel, is using their "Reality Box" to make judgement calls.  No more than what a person is willing to believe: that's the size of their Reality Box.

Not all UFOs are unidentified; do the research on the cylindrical, anti-grav craft being developed by the Nazis.  They nearly had it; movies exist.  Then check out how their chief rocket scientist, Werner Von Braun was brought here to continue his research; look up "Operation Paperclip" and discover how many scientists and others were secretly brought to the U.S. after WWII.

One more thing: consider fact-disguised-as-fiction and re-watch the movies MIB, The Matrix, and Conspiracy Theory.
I've seen 2 ufo's in my lifetime. One of them was definetly under some type of intelligent control.  Even if i had'nt seen them, just going over the available information that's been made to us over the past 50 years, i'd still have to say yes, there here, and  the craft are occupied.  As to contact with us, when you cross over an ant hill, and look down, do you try to make contact?  Of course not.  But we do have scientists that study ants.  Sound familar??
I believe I have seen UFOs twice in my life. First, when I was about 12 and again when I was about 43. My niece and wife were with me the second time, but neither were quick enough to see it. Both sightings were in broad daylight, and both appeared to me at a great distance as bright silver reflections that moved across the sky at incredible speeds. No manmade objects travel that fast by far.
I was laying in a lawn recliner about 8 years ago and watched a jetliner fling over at about 35 thousand feet I would guess. As I watched it go from east to west I saw a white round object cross above the contrail of the jet. It was moving north to south and was going just as fast as the airliner. I f seen ballons and it was not a balloon for sure.  It appered smaller than the jet at that altitude and did not shine,it was just a flat white color.
Yes I have actually seen two different "flying saucers" in 1956 when I was about 16 years old. I have never talked about them much because whenever I mentioned them I could sense disbelief. The first time I saw one I was walking alone about 9PM on a two-track sand-road on Pine Island Florida. I sensed something was near and I looked up to see it hovering above me. It close enough that I could see "portholes" alongside of the glowing inverted-saucer shaped craft. I am not sure but I think I saw movements behind some of the portholes. The craft remained above me for about 45 seconds (long enough to convince me that I wasn't "seeing things") Suddendly the craft zoomed away at an incredible speed and was completely out of sight in less than 5 seconds. The second sighting came about 3-4 months later on the south side of Ft. Myers Florida. A buddy and I was camping in a lightly wooded area on a moonless night. Both of us spotted the craft and watched it as it appeared to land several miles from our location. Although it was quite a bit farther away than the first one I had seen, it did look to be similiar. We didn't stick around long enough to see if the craft appeared again because we were scared out of out wits. The next day we explored a grassy area where we thought the craft touched down. Eventually we found three large round area of grass (in a triangular shape) that had been pushed flat. In the center of the "triangle" was a blacked singed area. I knew my parents would not believe me, but my buddy asked his Dad to "check it out". His Dad reluctantly came with us to see what we had seen. He advised us to not make a big thing out of it or people would think we had manufactured the site or, more likely, they would think we were crazy.
I saw one in the mid 70's with a friend while we were waiting for the movie to start at a drive in movie. It was hovering at about 45 degrese above the horizon. Just hanging there , no noise. Then after about 4minuts or so it took off in a straight line but still in fiew and stoped again. We looked at each other and said what the F@#$ is that. Then it weaved side to side a few times then stopped again. After a few moments to sped off out of sight still with no sound at all.
a friend of mine who is a trecon air traffic controller (and also a believer) has described many strange occurences to me that have taken place while he was sitting "at the board". he once said to me that "most people never see a ufo because most people don't walk around looking up". so now i do, and now i have. i won't hazard a guess as to what these things might be or where they might be from, but they are most certainly up there, and upon seeing one, you know instantly that "they ain't from around here".
yes, I agree with Al. And yes, I did see SOMETHING.... in the rural area's of North Carolina. It was quite frightening, simply because we all KNEW it wasn't ours......
Plato believed we are born knowing all things.  What matters is what our minds are either capable of acknowledging, or willing to acknowledge.
Let's see...A UFO is exactly what it means.....anUnidentified Flying Object....So there are multible UFOs.....I believe these events happen, but not yet to me....You would think in this world of High Tech Observation that is avalable to so many that positve proof would abound...We all know how frustrating it is to see photo evidence that is always Blurry and choppy...Why is this...Would someone please take an accurate picture.....My xmas morning videos are atrocious but I can still spot my In-Laws....Everyone...grab youe phone cameras or Cams tonight and let's "GETTER DONE"....for PETE'S SAKE!"...You all know Pete
I have seen a strange light in the sky, as well as others driving along the same Georgia highway that night. We all pulled over, got out of our cars and watched an aircraft move in ways that can't be explained by today's laws of physics. I have been a believer ever since. I keep this story to myself in fear of relationship and business repercussions. Don't want to be labeled a kook!
hmmm looks like religion vs scientific knowledge very interesting reading
I agree with so many others, to think we are the only ones in the universe is absolutly ludacris !
I believe we may have been visited on many occasions going back to before recorded time !Maybe since the very begining of time itself !!   BUT !!!!!!!
Most of the thousands of sightings in recent days, months and years, lately Texas , is more than likely the US Military !  They havent released  a new "black aircfaft " for decades ! To think that we havent got something better than the SR-71,B-2, f-117 is just as ludacris as saying we are the only ones in the universe !   But wouldnt it be nice for the government to fess up one way or the other ! But then it wouldnt be secret anymore, not untill we have something even more advanced and probably unmanned ! What do you think !!!!???????
I have seen an alien spacecraft!  I was working as a security guard for Columbia College in Missouri 1975.  I was making my usual rounds on the campus.  It was a dreary nigh with many clouds at about 3:00 in the morning.  I was walking from building to building punching the security clocks. I had a guard’s hat on and was watching the ground as I walked.  I noticed a shadow on the ground popping through the clouds.   I looked up and saw a huge craft about a third of the size of a football field.  It seemed to be silently gliding through the clouds right over my head.  I was sort of frozen watching this huge thing floating by.  I noticed a row of windows, but I was too far away to see any faces.  After telling my boss about this incident, he said I probably shouldn’t include this in my nightly report.  At the time, reports of UFO’s weren’t looked upon as very credible.
The bigger question in my mind than "do UFOs and ETs exist" is why isn't there a concerted, funded, official, and scientific effort to research these cases and attempt to find out?
Of course there are UFO's !!! What they are and where they might come from is the real question-I have seen one and I know I am in good company. I did not see aliens or was not abducted, but I know what I saw was not an airplane or anything else Ive ever seen or heard-it was simply something unidentifiable-I would love to know what it was I saw-but probably never will-I just wish the government would quit discrediting people who talk about thier experiences-its that backwards thinking like that caused the Salem Witch Trials and The Dark Ages-
I have to agree with all who said "any object in the sky that is not known is a UFO"...and for that reason yes - there are UFOs.  In 1986 on my way to work in Chicopee MA at 6pm I turned onto the main street from my apartment and there, hovering over the apartment block across the street, was a HUGE, glowing, silent triangle that was the brightest white I had ever seen.  I stopped dead in the road and jumped out of my car...the cars coming at me kept going but the ones behind had to stop.  I pointed at it and people got out...then it started to move and I jumped in my car to follow it.  It was picking up speed and began to change shape...I continued driving down the road, heart pounding, goosebumps - you name it.  I followed it for about 1/4 mile and it kept changing shape..getting longer and longer now instead of triangle.  Then...as it was moving away farther and was at it's longest point I finally realized what it was - and I had to pull over for the fit of laughing. It was a danged BLIMP!!! There was football game in Boston and there was an advertising blimp that had gotten lost. It was very unique - all bright white skin that would have flashed advertising over itself when positioned over the field. But while in flight there was no writing.  What I THOUGHT was hovering over the apartment was the blimp flying towards me/us and that accounted for the triangular shape (it was not directly facing but slightly off).  When I got to work everyone was abuzz about the "UFO" and people seriously argued with me that they really had seen a spacecraft.  Only a few people accepted the fact that I had seen the thing to the point that it became recognizable.  That night on the news were both accounts (UFO and possible blimp) and in the newspaper the next  morning the blimp was confirmed. The advertisers had to pay the city money in a fine for the number of calls swamped the emergency 911 system for hours that night and caused system failures.

My point with this story is threefold - 1) a little humor because to this day I still get a good laugh over my "eagerness" to catch a UFO; 2) a little caution for all of us that sometimes what you think you see may really be something ordinary after all; and 3) We really don't know what is out there.  I think that it is hubris on our part to think we are the only ones.  We have only been tech-savvy for 60 years or so...and we really can't say what is possible or not right now.  Things we thought were unimaginable 50 years ago are so commonplace we take them for granted.  Who knows - perhaps in the next 50 years we'll find out that the time/space continuum does allow for space travel in a way that wouldn't take light years - or - that there is a planet (or planets) IN our solar system close enough that has/have "intelligent" beings capable of space travel.

Hey - maybe they aren't from "outer" space at all.  We haven't fully explored even a 10th of our oceans yet...ever think maybe they are really already here??
i don't know what the answer is but these ufo don't travel the way we do, but i beleive there is something out there that we don't understand.  It seems people are so afraid to admit that there is the possibility that another being could be comming here from another galaxy they would be so far advanced ahead of us that they wouldn't even feel the need to
I do believe there are others out there, camping in the mountains of Colorado one time in the early 70's both the wife and i saw a round white object moving very fast across the sky to our right with no sound detected, our thought at first was the moon but the moon was to our left and of course stationary whereas this object was not!
My sister once told me she had seen something and asked what I suggested she do. I love my dear sister and so I suggested you not tell anyone else about it.

I think the only explanation for strange unidentified somethings is hardly flying suacers. Something they perceived in probably most cases but intelligent craft from outer space is a pretrty far stretch!
"Why would we talk to the ants?"

If you know this quote, you need go no farther.

If you do not know this quote and have any interest at all, pro or con, on ET’s, then you need to read “Contact” by Carl Sagan.

I will leave it at that.
I saw "something" 30 years ago, camping out at the base of Mt Monadnock. I watched a light I thought
first came from a plane. When it began to hover, I decided it must be a helicoper. Then it made some strange zig zag moves, then shot across the entire sky at incredible speed and vanished from sight. It may have been some kind of experimental craft from the Air Force Base, although I question whether we had the technology to make anything move like that?  I will never know for sure what I saw... If military, it was cutting edge - experimental stuff...
In response to Walt-Atlanta GA, I too saw something in Michigan in the mid 60's. I lived near Willow Run airport and saw what I thought was a plane coming in, but it made some radical turns and then just shot off. I didn't tell anyone about it for years.
I'm always looking, but haven't seen anything again.

Something strange happened this week though. The night before I saw the reports about Texas, I had a dream about UFO contact near my grandmothers farm in the UP. Sure gave me chill that morning!
