Explaining Meredith's New Look

Ever have one of those mornings when you walk out of the house, head to work, and then realize that you forgot something important?

I'm pretty good about making sure I have all my stuff when I leave my apartment, but one morning a few weeks ago, I forgot my wallet.

I spent the rest of the day depending on the kindness of my colleagues Zoe and Mary Elizabeth, who made sure I had proper transportation and food.

Anyway, I tell that story to explain why Meredith was going with a new, bespectacled look this morning.

It seems that when Ms. Vieira left her house, she neglected to grab her contact lenses on the way out. So for the first time since she's been on TODAY, we got to see her sporting her glasses on the air.

She didn't intend to make a fashion statement when she left her house, but who knows...maybe this will be the start of a new trend!

I felt sorry for Meredith this am I felt she was being made fun of about the glasses. She handled it like professional.
I also feel Ann handled the digs about her scarf in a very mature manner.
When you don't have something nice to say about someone you shouldn't say anything at all.

I think it made Mrs. Vieira look very perfessional this morning and something new. I think when Anchors wear glasses it makes them seem like they really do care about the news!!!!Well Anchors do care about the news all the time thats why they are so great at there job.

I had the pleasure of meeting Meridith while she was doing a segment at the Atlanta Aiport over the Thanksgiving holiday.  My room mate had called me and said that she was at the airport as I was too catching a flight to see my parents. We laughed at the possiblity of seeing her, but there she was, standing in the coridoor of terminal T where my gate was located.  I stopped and said hello and she was all smiles.  She even asked where I was going and who I was visiting. She was very gracious and approachable which was terrific.  Anyway she was looking for a cup of coffee and I saw later that she finally got one and sipped it with Peter Greenburg who also joined her during one of the segments.  Meredith, YOU ROCK!!!

Meredith looks beautiful, as usual. In fact all of the ladies of Today are beautiful. But, with all this focus on looks and laughs, I missed Paula Deen's Strawberry Delight recipe. Did they even give it out? Seemed like a lot of eating and promoting the book but not much info given. I can't find the recipe anywhere on the site?

I think Meredith should consider wearing her glasses every once in awhile.  She looks great with them on and as a role model, she can help disspell the negative connotations about wearing glasses.

Jenny - I watched the Paula Deen segment online. The Strawberry Delight they said is angel food cake, fresh whipped cream, sweetened condensed milk, strawberries, and cream cheese. Sorry, you'll have to guess the measurements, or buy Paula's book! ;-) Happy Cooking!

I think stylish glasses, chosen to flatter the face shape, coloring, etc., of the person are every bit as flattering as contacts, sometimes they even make the person look more stylish or complement an outfit. I can't believe we are STILL at the stage of whether or not someone should wear their glasses on-air. Wear what you like, what works for you, and just make it stylish, flattering, and age-appropriate, just as you would any other accessory.

With or without glasses, I don't see any matter with Mrs. Vieira about the look. In my view, I really admire her smile. Whole thing of her gives me an expression that she's conservative, moral, diplomat woman . I love to see her in morning show with her team of MSNBC.
