Posted: Friday, September 28, 2007 7:23 AM by Dan Fleschner

The day is finally here...and we got our first glimpse of Bruce and the band at a soundcheck this morning around 6 a.m. The whole crew was out there, running through the five songs they'll be performing this morning.

Four of the songs will air today, one will air Sunday on Weekend Today.

UPDATE: Soundcheck setlist

1. The Promised Land
2. Radio Nowhere
3. Livin' in the Future
4. My Hometown
5. Long Walk Home

I wanted to share a couple photos I took from the soundcheck to whet your appetites for the performance:

well, what was the soundcheck setlist?...
thanks!
I wish I could be there!  I'll see you on October 18th at the GARDEN!  Rock on, BRUCE!!!!
Rosalita
Bruce & ESB: Perfect together! Thanks for brining the MAGIC back. All the best....
Thanks for these updates Dan, since some of us unfortunately have to work :-(

My friend is taping the show for me so I can watch it later :-)  But I'll be checking in today both here & backstreets.com (the best Bruce fan discussion boards - been a member for a long time now!) for any updates!

Can't wait to see him on 11/19 in Boston!
I have NEVER missed a Bruce Tour since 1975, regardless of if it was solo, other bank, Seeger Sessions, ect. & it is always a memorable performance. I appreciate his intelligent songwriting, and find him to be a very attractive 58 yr. old! I am going to the Chicago & Boston Magic Show!!
Robin
Can't wait to see the performance that I DVR'd when I get home tonight - nothing is better than a little Bruce Juice!
Disappointed that the concert wasn't on web for those of us that work could listen.
I went by at 7:55 and heard him doing a song "Promised Land".  Ran through the crowd and was able to get within 20 feet of him and the band.  He sounded great but stopped after one song.  Steve van Zandt and Nils Lofgren were then interviewed.  I did have to leave to get to work so couldn't stay for the 8:30 set.  (But I have tickets to see him at the
Garden)
at what time will he perform? can be watched live from the web?
I am not interested in Bruce's liberal rantings. SHUT UP AND SING! Has Today invited Ted Nugent for equal time? Jeff Mackie
fire the sound engineer- nbc managed to provide very poor sound for its tv listeners- maybe those on the plaza could hear.
I LOOOOOOOVVVVVVEEEEEE BRUCE! I think he speaks for/and to the people- he sings of the hardships of the average Joe.

I have been a fan of Bruce's since his first album- I was the only kid in grammar school who listen to Bruce.

FOREVER a Bruce fan!

And I'm a Jersey Girl!
The Boss rocks! And NBC rocks! The Today show deservs all the praise it gets.

I really love the way you "listened to the people", delayed the news, and aired Bruce's encore.
Go home and get some sleep!  I'll see ya tonite in Jersey!
I am at home and watching on TV.  Thank you
TODAY for not cutting away.
Bruce has no voice, he can't sing, never could, this cd sounds like all the others, it's time to grow up America and get a life, and stop the hero worship... we have made Bruce rich enough...
I had to be at work, but I'd like to see the Today Show performance -
Love him and will see him in November but he needs to understand the average Joe, working man isn't a liberal anymore. His political nonsense is a turn off big time.
9/28 Still, some of the best tunes you will ever hear. Age has not negatively effected his music, it is like a fine wine, only getting better.
Bruce IS and ALWAYS will be THE BOSS!!!  Clarence...love you!!  You are the BIG MAN!!!
Bruce has always been to the East Coast, what Shaun Cassiday is to the West Coast. Scamps Like Them, Baby Born Da Do Run Run. Neither of them are a Hasselhof, and don't they know it. Ach Du Lieber!
What a great Springsteen concert.  Thank you TODAY show.  It was so great that you covered so many songs. I wish I could have been there in person. Thanks for making this week-long single mom able to enjoy the show!

Can't wait to see him live in DC.  He just gets better!!! and so does the E Street Band.
bruce is great and the e street band is super clarence taught my husband wolf to play the sax wolf said he worked for bruce and the band as security and that born in the usa was aboutmy husband wolfgang biso i would love to see him and the band in person    love you guys maryellen biso
Joe get over the fact that you have No taste...just leave the people that love Bruce alone and go do something else.
Bruce is Awesome with and without the E Street Band. If you every really listened to Bruce you would know!
BRUCE YOUR STILL THE BOSS TO ME!! VPP
and Thank you Today Show.
"The Rangers were at a homecoming in Harlem late last night" Would love to hear that in his soundcheck. How many of us Bruce fans really can't describe what it is like to enjoy Bruce's music or to become a true Rock-n- Roll fan when you see him live in concert. My first one was in the late 70's on Christmas Eve-out comes Bruce dressed as Santa-- jammed on Santa is coming to town. When reading all these blogs for the past few days I am shocked about some of the things that true Bruce fans are not sharing. The songlists are great and best memories are fabulous. When Matt was blessed to have the chance to interview him it is not just Bruce he is interviewing, if you grew up with his music and the E Steet Band, Matt is interviewing all of you as well. What was going on in Americans lives when we heard our first acoustic version of "Thunder Road" or "War" or "Racing in the Streets" or even "Jungleland". Bruce fans have always been able to connect some part of a happy moment past or present in their lives when listening to his music or talking about him. Not many interviews that we see on T.V. or words of some musicians especially RAP artists that are killing someone or stealing portrays this in our lives any-more. Pure music!!  Hope all of our children become fans and carry out his tradition of being true to yourselves, surving struggles, growing up while respecting family and country. Let's not also forget that Bruce has a great supporting cast who else can play a Sax solo Jungleland is a great one to think of -- like the Big man himself C.C. The E Street Band has a big part to play in all of this as well. As I sit in my office today to re-cap all of these wonderful blogs that have taken me down memory lane--{25-years of it}-- I think of watching a concert at Giant Stadium and just hearing the set of BADLANDS-then Racing in the Street, into the- River and finishing it off with- Because the Night. I would like to know what Matt and all of the fans will be thinking about the next 10 years of Bruce and what memories we will be talking about with Matt and Bruce. Hopefully the best music that represents most of our lives both past and present of growing up in the best country in the world.  Great job Matt, Fans and Bruce and thank you for taking me down memory lane and making me think about the future-- It's all good!!!
Bruce is the best. I love him. You rock Boss
Awesome concert.  Bruce may not have the greatest voice, but it is unique & his songwriting talent and enthusiasm is what make him great. I also like hearing about his political views whether I agree or not.  He is not about money, greed, etc.  He does not care about being politically correct.  I love it! Keep it up...
For those of us that are true Bruce Fans there is nothing like him. Listenting to his music is the best but watching him and the band preform puts you into a totally different state of mind. It takes days for the smile to leave my face after seeing one of his shows. A true artist.
i really enjoyed the concert on the today show this morning. age has not slowed this rocker down as he still can perform as if he were twenty five. i have never seen Bruce in concert but would love to see him here in denver, colorado if this is on his concert schedule.
BRUCE & E STREET PRE-EMPT THE NEWS!!!! Only Springsteen fans could scream loud enough to fluster the anchors at NBC!!! How cool!!! Thank you Bruce & NBC for rolling with the Boss!!! In reference to the other story on the show about your heroes letting you down??? I just wanted to say that Bruce has been one of my heroes for a long, long time & he has NEVER EVER let me down!!!! The true heroes of this world will NOT let you down. It's like your TRUE friends -- "If you'll be true to me then I'll be true to YOU!!!" Thanks NBC,Bruce & E Street! See you when you see the Rocky Mountain Skyline again!!!
Bruce ROCKS!!!! Please come back to Richmond Va. before to hang them up for good. We luv you!!!
"I am not interested in Bruce's liberal rantings. SHUT UP AND SING! Has Today invited Ted Nugent for equal time? Jeff Mackie"

I am not interested in your rantings. SHUT UP AND GO BACK TO WORK.
If you are listening to Bruce because of his voice then you do not get it.  It's the quality of the writing and the amazing live performances that make him special.  By the way the voice is a true Rock & Roll voice and something to be appreciated.  You do not have to agree with him politically to appreciate that he is a one of a kind artist.  See you in Boston on November 18th & 19th!
Have always enjoyed Bruce's work. Still appreciate the beat, but not all of his lyrics. With my husband being in Iraq, I don't like to hear anything going out over the airwaves that can be used as propaganda against the USA, the country my husband is fighting for.
Bruce made a comment about having to get up early today. My husband gets up early everyday...to do something about the terrorism threat against this country. He and Bruce are both Americans, but my husband does much more for this country (for much less money).
I'll always be grateful to my bro' that has bought Bruce single Born in the USA in 1984, because as the first words i'm fallen in love with that singer. He is the best. I've seen him twice, in 1997 and in 2003. Twice i have been in Paradise. Bruce and the Band are so great. And now, i'm happy because my son of 2 years 1/2 old is a fan too. Everydays he ask for the DVD to dances on Bruce and he applauses and says Bravo. He even cries for that i put the DVD, and is happy to run and take it. Bruce i'll always be your fan, keep the good work with your band and be happy, always. A great artist. Love.
"Human Touch" is one of Bruce's songs that my lovely wifey Gailey & I will always cherish. It's all we needed then and it sustains us now.
Thanks. We'll see you in Hartford next week.
Where is Soozie??????? Love what she's added in recent years to Bruce tours. Keep a spin on the music.
BRUCE IS STILL THE BOSS WHERE WOULD AMERICA BE WITHOUT
HIM-
Today Show: Please.........never remove the video link to Bruce's concert on your website....
