J.K. Rowling a Slytherin?

No, Rowling has not joined the House of Salazar Slytherin.

The ring she wore to her interview with Meredith Vieira is a gift from her husband, Neil,  and a testament to the fact that she was born in the year of the snake.

It may come as no surprise that Rowling suspects she would be sorted into Gryffindor if she were to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

“The virtue I prize above the others, and I think it’s patently obvious from the books, is courage,” Rowling said.  “So I would hope to be in Gryffindor…Whether I would be judged worthy or not, I don’t know.”

Gryffindor, Slytherin...J.K. Rowling is still Head Girl to us.
Don't forget, had Harry not protested so vehemently, the Sorting Hat would have put him in Slytherin. J.K Rowling is obviously part of all four houses, thank God!
I am amazed at how many hunters are Rowling fans, and like snakes for that matter, LOL!! Olen AKA SP10Gauge on HuntersOnly.com
I am 71 years old, have read 6 of the 7 books at the near insistance of one of my 15 grand children. We discuss the stories together. I was given a gift card to a book store, guess what I shall buy for us!
Silliness and fluff.
I kind of hoped that Harry would have been headmaster at hogwarts... but then his kids wouldn't have listened to him anyway... That's kids for you! What is Harry doing in the future? Will that be in the encyclopedia? I hope so.......
JUST OUT OF CURIOSITY-HOW DID NEVILLE WIND UP WITH THE GOLDRIC'S SWORD????
She could be great you know, it's all in there, and Slytherin would help her on the way.....
I don't really care if she stinks at everything else and is the center of all evil, she right terrific books!
She can ask the sorting hat!
Mrs, Rowling.  I am a 62 year old Grandfather of 10, all of whom simply adore Harry Potter and the cast of Hogwarts students.
My question:  "Would you consider making 'The World of Harry Potter,' a television series?"  It could be along the lines of a soap opera.  You could start with Book 1 and show the life of Harry in more detail, before he goes to Hogwarts as well as day to day events of the students at Hogwarts, that was not possible in the books or Movies.
You could actually extend this series for over 20 years if you made each semester at Hogwarts cover about three months or more.  Each weekly program should be an hour and you could have them produce 25 shows a year, with two weeks off and then re-run the season again, before going on to the next season, or have one week between the originals and the re-runs.  That way you could have a week between the re-runs and the "New Season."
I am sure that Harry Potter is a name that will still be spoken and his life read a hundred years from now.  His life reflects some aspect of every individual who reads these books and thus the reason for the popularity...we each have a little Harry, Hermonie, Ron, and Draco in us.
Yes, Mrs Rowling, this would allow all of us to continue watching a program which would be totally entertaining as well as educational as we study along with the students at Hogwarts.
This would also give you a chance to allow ALL OF US who love Quidditch to get to see a complete match from time to time.  It would be fantastic.
So, please don't stop with the movies, now that book 7 is complete.
I purchased the Hard Back Book and the CD's read so well by Jim Dale.
Like you I literally cried like a baby in chapter 34.
I guess I cried for over five minutes, non stop.  I felt like I had experienced a loss of part of me, yet, you resurected me as the book continued toward the final battle with Voldemort.
Yes, it was a welcome relief.  Not only was Voldemort dead, struck so, by his own spell, but the curses he had over people were released and those people returned to normal.  Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
Harry in the end, did not kill Voldemort, but the same spell which weakened him in the beginning, while linking him to Harry, once again bounced back and he was killed by his own hate.
Please consider these requests.
We Love you for what you have given OUR Family, but also, for what you have given the rest of Humanity as well.

Sincerely,

Mike Christol
Where do we start... A Trully great interview with
our favorite. Meridith. There is no better woman on
tv than her. The interview with her and AJRawlings
was insiteful and pleaseant. Not a fan or reader of the "Potter" phenominon, I felt she asked the correct questions and made AJ feel comfortable and I
enjoyed her questions and presense. What a gal. you just have to like her.
Yes, it would have been interesting if Harry had been head master... I actually thought that Neville was at the end of the book.  But in the interviews with JKR, it seemed like he was only a prof.  I hope to see more about their lives, what exactly they are doing, their kids, etc.  I can't wait for the encyclodpedia!!
Pete- I wondered about that sword myself, so I went back and read that part carefully. Neville pulled the sword out of the Sorting Hat, just as Harry did in The Chamber of Secrets. I'm assuming that it would come to any Gryffindor who has need of it- probably in the same fashion.
I love your books so much. I read them over and over again. I cried the most when Sirius Black dies (when he turns into a dog he looks like my dog.) I loved the interviews too!
In response to the "Neville w/Gryffindor sword" question.  refer to pages 333/334 in Chamber of Secrets and page 733 in Hallows.  Neville pulled the sword from the hat just as Harry did fighting the basilisk.  Remember, as Dumbledore stated: "Only a true Gryffindor could have pulled that out of the hat"  Neville pulled it out of the sorting hat at a time of extreme peril, just as Harry did.
It is true that only a true griffindor can pull the sword out of the sorting hat, but I thought one the goblins had it.
I believe Neville got the sword from the hat, because like Harry he was a true Gryffindor in the sense that he was "ready to use it".  Courage--by the end, he had arguably more than anyone else.  The great thing about the ending is that Harry's apparent death really gelled all good citizens to fight to the end.  It was truly a beautiful conclusion.  I wish we lived in that world.
Hi I'd like to know, whats Harry's son James full name?  Is it Harry James? or maybe James Sirius?
you know... i never liked reading the Harry Potter books. I only watched the movies. My aunt gave me number 7 for my birthday though... i read that one forst...that's when i fell in love with the books... after number seven i read five then three, then four, then six, then seven again....out of order...but SO GREAT!!
I LOVE THE BOOKS AND CHARACTERS AND J.K. ROWLING OF COURSE!
