The reason Ireland turned around is because of lower corporate and personal taxes. Mr Lauer looks very foolish for not mentioning this to his audience. It makes the mainstream media look very LEFT wing as everyone suspects anyway. Thanks Matt for verifying the facts.
I just love this destination, my husband and I are making plans for our trip there in 2 years were hopefully we will renew our wedding vows. The place we want to visit the most are the castles.
I don't get to see your show as I am at work. But I have not only visited Ireland but I also lived there for 16 months. It is truely a great country to live in. Expensive but wonderful none the less. Did you know that Ireland was the ONLY country in the world to have a National Day of Mourning for the 9/11 victims? Even the US did not have such a day. For a country that small to close everything down for one Friday, even the pubs. I lived in a little town calld Clonakilty about 36 miles from Cork. My future wife lives there now. Immigration problems here in the US is keeping her from coming here and living and Divorce problems in Ireland are keeping us from getting married.
I was so excited to see Ireland, that is on my life list to see. My father was born there and my mother's parents where born there as well. They came to Boston in 1928, my dad was 5. I believe County Cork, but the cladah (sp) ring, since you are all getting one, if you are taken to you where the heart towards you, if you are single, you where the heart away from your heart, from what I hear from my relatives, that was the wedding ring, now a symbol that problem here in the USA we made up, but just a thought, I loved seeing Ireland, and hope my brothers and sisters and I can go back to where we started. Thanks. Patty Dwyer Walled Lake, MI
Matt, How I envy you-a day of sunshine in Ireland, sitting at a pub, all those glasses of Guiness in the background!!I have Irish roots, have visited Ireland five times, and hated to leave after each visit. As a retired soldier, I have "visited" many places in Asia and Europe but none had the warmth and charm of Ireland. Erin go braugh!!
I was very impressed with the newness of the Irish sweaters shown by Matt in Galway yesterday. Who makes these sweaters, and who can I contact in Ireland as I will be visiting there soon?
