Since 1983, irrepressible Willard Scott's birthday greetings to centenarians have been a TODAY tradition. But today it's Willard's turn to receive best wishes. The momentous occasion: the 30th anniversary of Willard joining the TODAY show family. (WATCH VIDEO)
It was 1980 when Willard, now 76, was tapped by NBC to be TODAY's weather reporter, and in the years since, his sometimes zany antics – including a memorable Carmen Miranda impersonation in 1983 – have brightened millions of Americans' mornings. Al Roker has since taken over the weather duties, but Willard is still a vital part of the TODAY show, still sending birthday greetings to those who have reached the three-digit mark. Congrats Mr. Scott on thirty years. My little sister worked as a page there at NBC Fran macrae and she knew you and said she invited you to her wedding at one time. Again great work

As a 61 yo, I have watched Willard every step of the way. The love, humor, and humanity has become a trademark. CONGRATULATIONS! I wish I could say I had the pleasure to meet you in person.

Dear God....can Kathy Lee ever shut up? That women is the biggest PIA I've ever known. Hoda would do a ton better if KL didn't show up. Anyone filling in for her would be of more interest. All she does is verbally vomit constantly. Give it up!
Has anyone forgotten Mr. Willard Scotts first T.V. impersonation? At least the one I remember: Ronald Mcdonald! However, I'm not sure if that was the name used at that time. He wore a huge painted smile and a milkshake cup on his nose!

When I was a little kid my mom watched the today show and the birthdays were my favorite part. Now as a mom myself a small part of me still gets a little excited when I get to get the birthdays.
Congratulations, Mr. Scott! My original fond memories of you run back in time to when I was a young preschooler, and looked forward to seeing the always entertaining Bozo the Clown on TV. I adore your infectious smile and your joyous love of life. Best wishes to you, sir.
